Rainn Wilson has hit out at the penultimate episode of The Last of Us for its "anti-Christian bias," claiming that Hollywood movies never have any kind "Bible-reading preachers."
The Last of Us has been a hit worldwide, with both lovers of the video game and newcomers to the series being gripped by the fast-paced narrative.
Each episode feels like a new story in itself with the main protagonists Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) fighting off both those infected by the cordyceps and other people that wish them harm.
During the penultimate episode of the first season, Ellie and Joel got separated - with the former being kidnapped by a group of starving individuals.
Check out the trailer for The Last of Us:The leader of the group, David, is shown to be a preacher as he cites verses from the Bible to his community - but this doesn't mean that he is a good person.
During a conversation with Ellie, David reveals that before the world became infected he was a teacher and only found God after the fall of humanity.
He's shown to be heavy-handed with those who rely on him, as well as having sexual desires toward 14-year-old Ellie - and that's before it's revealed that he is a cannibal.

The softly-spoken David met his match with Ellie, but the character being a sadistic preacher hasn't sat well with some viewers - including the Office star Rainn Wilson.
Taking to Twitter, Wilson wrote: "I do think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood. As soon as the David character in The Last of Us started reading from the Bible I knew that he was going to be a horrific villain. Could there be a Bible-reading preacher on a show who is actually loving and kind?"
It would seem that others echoed what Wilson was thinking, as somebody added: "I had this same thought when watching. It is such a played out trope, especially in Sci Fi. Sad to see that religion is always used as an example of cultish, unchecked power. When, in fact, some of the best people I know are honorable, kind, and devout."
That being said, others were quick to point out their favorite movies and TV shows that display religious characters in a far more positive light.
The Walking Dead featured characters such as Hershel Greene and Father Gabriel who were both religious, the latter being a man of the cloth, and whilst flawed in some aspects they were inherently good people.
Other people put forward Eli from The Book Of Eli and beloved TV show host Mr. Rogers.
David was definitely a bad person, but it wasn't his religion that defined him - more his desire to murder and eat other people.
