Rapper Big Scarr has passed away at the age of 22, fellow musician Gucci Mane has confirmed on social media.
The musician - whose real name was Alexander Woods - was part of the 42-year-old 'Wake Up In The Sky' rapper's record label: 1017 Records.
Initially, news first circulated of Scarr's death on Thursday (December 22) with gossip site Shade Room posting a tribute to him on Instagram, writing: "Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time."
However, Mane - whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis - took to his own social media page to seemingly confirm the heartbreaking rumors regarding Scarr.

After the devastating news continued to spread on the social media platform, more fellow musicians and online personalities took to their pages to pay their respects to the young star.
Enchanting, who is signed to the same record label, posted her heartbreaking words on her Instagram Stories. In the first story, she wrote: "Ion wanna talk. Sorry if I don't answer. I just can't," and then followed it up with: "I can't take it bro please just leave me alone. I never felt like this."
The singer then shared a picture of the rapper and continued: "My babbbyyy my best friend my son I love you forever and I'm so sorry."
On Twitter, DJ Akademiks - a known podcaster and YouTuber - posted a tribute, simply writing: "RIP Big Scarr."
Musician Le'Veon Bell also commented on Scarr's tragic death, and said: "Damn, RIP Big Scarr … literally one of my favorite rappers to date, this is so sad … too sad."
The rapper grew up in South Memphis and lived with his grandmother until the age of 13. After she passed from lung cancer, he moved in with his father.
At the age of 16, he was involved in a car wreck, and revealed on his website that he went flying through the windshield but "walked away with scars on his eyes, nose, and the whole side of his face, inspiring his chosen name".
His rap career began in 2019 when he released 'Make A Play,' which rapidly gained popularity on YouTube and led to him being signed to Mane's 1017 label the following year.
In 2021, his mixtape titled Big Grim Reaper was released and was described as his best-known work. The deluxe edition was also released this year. The mixtape entered at number 25 on the Billboard 200 and sold 22,000 copies in its first week.
A cause of death has not yet been publicly disclosed.
