Ricky Martin and his husband Jwan Yosef, have announced that they are ending their marriage after six years.
On Thursday (July 6), the former couple - who first met through Instagram back in 2015 - confirmed their divorce in a joint statement to PEOPLE magazine.
"We have decided to end our marriage with love, respect, and dignity for our children and honoring what we have experienced as a couple all these wonderful years," they wrote.
"Our greatest desire now is to continue having a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centered on peace and friendship to continue the joint upbringing of our children, preserving the respect and love we have for each other," they added.

The 51-year-old 'Livin La Vida Loca' musician and the 38-year-old award-winning artist's romance began after meeting for the first time in London, England back in 2015. They made their relationship public a year later, at the 2016 amFAR Inspiration Gala, and even announced their engagement the same year.
The former couple then tied the knot in 2018, with the 'She's All I Ever Had' singer sharing the happy news of their marriage during an interview with E! News.
"I'm a husband, but we're doing a heavy party in a couple of months - I'll let you know," Martin said. "We exchanged vows, and we've swear [sic] everything, and we've signed all the papers that we needed to sign, prenups and everything."
In December of that year, the Grammy-winning musician and Syrian-Swedish artist welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Lucia Martin-Yosef, and in October 2019, they joyfully announced the birth of their newborn son, Renn Martin-Yosef. Both children were born via surrogate.
The Puerto Rican superstar is also a father to 15-year-old twins Matteo and Valentino - who he had through a single-father surrogacy process and will continue to be a single parent to them.
Martin - who came out publicly in his memoir 2011, Me: Ricky Martin - previously opened up about how his sexuality made him fearful that he would never become a father.
"Many years I dreamt of being a father, and many, many, many times I went through this grieving process of, 'I am gay, I am a closeted gay man, and I’m not going to be able to be a daddy,'" he told Out magazine in 2020.
The Latin icon also spoke about why he decided to use a surrogate to make his dream come true, explaining: "Obviously adoption is an option and it’s very beautiful, but unfortunately for gay men, it’s very difficult to adopt in some countries."

Following their divorce, Martin is set to star in Apple TV+’s forthcoming period comedy Palm Royale, which features Kristen Wiig and Laura Dern.
Meanwhile, Yosef - who won the Threadneedle Prize for exhibiting artists and the Beers Contemporary Award for Emerging Art - opened a new art studio in Los Angeles this year.
