It's no secret that it's been a long time since Rihanna released new music, but she has now assured fans that they "aren't going to be disappointed" when she finally does.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 'Umbrella' singer said that while it is taking a long time for her to release her new album (four years and counting), fans "will not be disappointed" when it drops.

Rihanna kicked back in a lace catsuit during quarantine:

"I am always working on music," the singer, who is also working on the launch of her new skincare line, Fenty Skin. "I am always working on music and when I am ready to put it out in the way that I feel fit, it's gonna come out."

She continued, "And you're not going to be disappointed when it happens. It's going to be worth it."

However, the 'Diamonds' hitmaker stressed that she won't release her new album until she's completely confident that it's ready.

"I'm not just gonna put it out just because people are waiting," she said. "It's taken this long. I'm gonna make it worth it."

Rihanna also reflected on the 15th anniversary of her first single, 'Pon de Replay', in the interview and said that she is "grateful" to still have a career as a musician.

"I'm 10 years older, I'm 15 years older. I thought that was just a few years ago, now it's like a decade-plus," she said to ET. "THAT is what I think about! But I'm also really grateful to still be here and being able to expand into other ventures. I'm grateful. It's been fun and I can't even complain."

This comes after Rihanna previously hinted about the content of her new album in an interview with Vogue in November of last year.

"I like to look at it as a reggae-inspired or reggae-infused album," she said. "It's not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae. But you're going to feel the elements in all of the tracks."
