Adult film star Riley Reid has explained the perfectly logical reason why she no longer makes heterosexual adult movies.

During an interview on an episode of Jordyn Jones' What They Don't Tell You podcast, the 31-year-old adult entertainer - whose real name is Ashley Matthews - spoke about her career and the difficulties she's experienced in the dating sphere.

In the discussion, Reid told Jones that: "Dating was really hard," adding that it was hard for prospective love interests to get past the x-rated character she portrayed on screen.

But that's all behind her now, as she's happily married to Latvian free-runner Pasha Petkuns, with whom she shares a baby daughter named Emma.

Though, getting to that point wasn't easy, especially given her line of work.

Watch Reid explain below:

"As I grew a name for myself, it was hard to meet someone who [didn't] know who I was," the mom-of-one said. "And so, there was always that, like, fandom."

She then added that it was difficult for her past partners to make the distinction between her work persona and her real self.

"They met me first in their mind as Riley, so it was really hard to like reverse and teach them that I'm Ashley." The adult Hall of Famer also admitted that she hasn't been treated too well in past relationships - with certain partners saying she was the type of girl "you don't take to meet your mom."

Having been involved in the industry since she was 19 in 2010, Reid explained that while she hasn't fully retired from acting in pornographic movies, she no longer participates in projects where she has to get intimate with a man. "I didn't retire but I just stopped shooting boy-girl porn. It was a choice I made on my own but I made that choice because I was lonely and I wanted love and affection and stuff," Reid revealed. "And I was like, 'I'm not gonna be able to find this while I'm performing.'"

The Florida-born actress said she understood it would be quite difficult to find this type of love while also continuing to perform.

Previously, Reid appeared on Logan Paul's imPaulsive podcast where she divulged how her ex-boyfriends had made her feel "disgusting" due to her chosen career, and that one boyfriend, in particular, refused to kiss her when she would come home from work.

"He made me feel like maybe I should quit and stuff [...] he didn't want to kiss me when I came home from work. So, like, [it] made me feel like a disgusting person," Reid recalled.

"And I'm not disgusting! It's harsh," she added. "It was so horrible when he told me that."
