One of the most iconic Halloween movies of all time is, of course, Disney's Hocus Pocus.

Released in 1993, Hocus Pocus follows the story of two siblings who accidentally unleash three evil witches after reading from a book of spells in a haunted house in Salem. They must then fight to get the book back before the witches gain immortality.

It's a fun film for all the family, and while it wasn't particularly commercially successful on its release, it has become something of a cult classic. And last week, fans got the news they've been waiting 26 years for, the movie is finally getting a sequel.

However, until now, nothing has been said about whether its original three witches would be returning.

But a telling Instagram conversation between Sarah Jessica Parker, who played Sarah Sanderson, has suggested that she and her co-stars Bette Midler (Winifred) and Kathy Najimy (Mary) could potentially be reprising their roles as the Sanderson sisters.

After sharing an image of the iconic three witches, Parker was asked by one Instagram user: "Any chance of a sequel?" This was followed by praying and fingers crossed finger emojis.

In response to this, the 54-year-old actress wrote: "We have all said yes. Now we wait. X."

So, I think it's fair to assume that it COULD BE HAPPENING.

Jen D'Angelo, who is working on the script for the sequel, has allegedly been tasked with bringing the three back, and Bette Midler has also publically said that she'd be willing to reprise her role.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said: "Oh my goodness me. Oh, I hope they get to me before I'm a corpse.

"We wanna fly again. I hope Disney+ is a big success and I hope we get to do it, because [Winifred] is, of course, one of my favorite characters."

In her interview with ET, she said of her continued relationship with her co-stars: "We actually talk about it whenever we see each other. We laugh, we say, 'Oh, wouldn't it be great if?' Because all of us had pretty much the same experience on it."

However, this contradicts what the 73-year-old said in 2017 when asked about the possibility of a sequel. Midler told People: "It's going to be cheap! I'm not sure what they're going to do with my character. My character is very, very broad and I don't know who they're going to find to play that."

But hey! People are allowed to change their minds.

So, on that note, all we need is some public confirmation from Kathy and the Sanderson sisters could be set to cast a spell on a whole new generation.
