Schitt's Creek had an incredible run of good fortune at last night's Emmy Awards and made history by winning all seven comedy categories at the 2020 event.
Additionally, the show broke a number of records, including becoming the first comedy to ever win all four main acting awards, and by becoming the most awarded comedy ever in one year, as per Gold Derby.

"The internet's about to turn on me. I'm so sorry!" Dan Levy said as he picked up the show's third win, per Vanity Fair, at the ceremony which was attended by the cast, including winners Catherine O'Hara, Annie Murphy, Eugene Levy, and director Andrew Cividino, and others from their respective homes.
The show picked up nine Emmys overall, beating the comedy record previously held by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

"Please go out and vote," Dan, the show's cocreator (and director, writer, producer, and star) said as he gave the speech for the show's best-comedy win. "I'm so sorry to make this political," he added as he turned to Eugene. "Dad, come and do the fun stuff."
Eugene then took the opportunity to thank his multitalented son for his role in bringing the story to life:
"I also want to thank once again this young man who took our fish-out-of-water story about the Rose family and transformed it into a celebration of inclusivity, a castigation of homophobia, and a declaration of the power of love."

The cast retired to the virtual press room after their incredible series of wins, where Dan described them as "absolutely incredible…I think my dad said it best...that it feels like a dream that you don't want to wake up from, to be perfectly honest."
One joke that fell flat on the night was provided by host Jimmy Kimmel:

"What an absolutely wonderful way to end our series," Dan added. "I don't think you could ask for a better conclusion to a story than [this] tonight. So we are thrilled."

Dan also addressed the possibility of there being a followup movie, which is now less likely because of Schitt's Creek's incredible Emmy success, but it hasn't been ruled out entirely.
"Here's the thing…this is the best way we could have ever ended the show," he said. "So if there is an idea that ever pops into my head, worthy of these wonderful people, it has to be really freaking good at this point…because this was a really nice way of saying goodbye…so fingers crossed that we get a really good idea that comes into our head."
Congratulations to Schitt's Creek! Certainly a deserving show for all those awards!
