Selena Gomez has candidly spoken out against people who leave body-shaming comments on her social media page.

The 30-year-old actress and musician made an appearance at the Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday (January 10) night in a ravishing strapless dark purple Valentino gown.

After photos of the 'Love You Like A Love Song' hitmaker began being shared online, many online trolls were quick to post mean comments about her physical appearance.

However, Gomez - who has always been a champion for body positivity - remained brave-faced and let the haters know that she wasn't letting their harmful remarks get to her during an Instagram live session.

Check out the video below:

Footage from the live stream was reshared on TikTok and shows the Only Murders in the Building actress sat alongside her younger sister Gracie - who was her plus one for the award ceremony.

Gomez openly explained to people watching that she has gained some weight after the holiday season - just like most of us do - and that there's nothing to be ashamed of.

"I'm a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays. Right?", she said, before turning to face her nine-year-old sister, who started nodding to which the singer then laughed.

Many people on the social media platform took to the comment section to rally behind her as one user wrote: "I like that she owns it, let's face it [a lot] of us go through the weight gain over the holidays!"

Another said: "She shouldn’t have to say anything. She look[s] amazing, beautiful and so happy celebrating with her sister. Period."

A third commented: "You don’t need to explain yourself to anyone. You are absolutely beautiful… they are so jealous! Gorgeous!"

A fourth person declared: "I think She looks better than ever! Girl own it, don't Apologize to these trolls out here! They wish they can be you!! Facts!!!"

Back in April, the Rare Beauty founder took to her TikTok page to address the rude, unpromoted remarks she gets about her looks.

In the clip, which was posted on Twitter, Gomez started by saying: "So I be trying to stay skinny, but I went to Jack in the Box and I got four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings, and a spicy chicken sandwich." Honestly... same!

She then noted: "Honestly, I don’t care about my weight because people bitch about it anyway. 'You’re too small,' 'You’re too big,' 'That doesn’t fit.' Meh meh meh meh," before concluding the video like the badass she is with: "B***h, I am perfect the way I am. Moral of the story? Bye."

In addition to this, the singer spoke with Cosmopolitan after the release of her makeup line and said: "I fluctuate in my weight a lot, so I've had to learn pretty early to have thick skin when it comes to this stuff and to understand that it doesn’t matter at all. It’s just hateful. It’s all it is."

Consider the mic dropped.
