Selena Gomez has reacted to resurfaced footage that shows Hailey Bieber mocking Taylor Swift.

TikTok user @duckcopycat0 shared a short clip of Hailey on her old show Drop the Mic, where she was joined by her co-host, rapper Method Man.

In the clip Method Man was presenting a performance, which he described as "a one-on-one rap battle full of the meanest lyrics about a celebrity since Taylor Swift's last album."

Hailey, 26, then proceeded to fake gag, bringing her finger up to her mouth and rolling her eyes. The text overlay on the TikTok reads: "THISS is real Hailey 'Bieber' mean girl // matona // A Bully [sic]."

Selena evidently didn't find the clip funny at all, with the 30-year-old taking to the comments section to write: "So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game." Taylor and Hailey have not yet commented on the video.

The former Disney Channel star has had a friendship with Taylor since 2008, when the pair were dating Nick and Joe Jonas (respectively). Selena most recently discussed their friendship in a 2022 interview with Rolling Stone where she called the 'Anti-Hero' singer one of her "only" friends in Hollywood.

"I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities. My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn't belong. I felt the presence of everyone around me living full lives. I had this position, and I was really happy, but … was I? Do these materialistic things make me happy? I just didn't like who I was, because I didn't know who I was," she said of their friendship.

In 2020, Taylor spoke about their bond to the Wall Street Journal, stating: "I knew from when I met her I would always have her back. In my life, I have the ability to forgive people who have hurt me. But I don't know if I can forgive someone who hurts her."

Selena and Hailey's relationship has been scrutinized by fans over the past few years, given that Hailey's husband Justin Bieber was previously in a seven-year on-off relationship with Selena. The pair have been vocal about how trolls have left hurtful comments pitting the two women against each other for years.

Following the barrage of toxic comments, Selena deactivated her social media for a while, stating in an interview: "People can call me ugly or stupid and I’m like, whatever. But these people get detailed. They write paragraphs that are so specific and mean. I would constantly be crying. I constantly had anxiety... I couldn’t do it anymore. It was a waste of my time.

"The only thing I have on my phone is TikTok because I find it to be a little less hostile," she continued. "There are wonderful things about social media - connecting with fans, seeing how happy and excited they are and their stories. But usually that's filtered through [for me now]. I created a system. Everything I do I send to my assistant who posts them."
