Seth MacFarlane has said that he wishes Family Guy would be taken off Fox due to Tucker Carlson's contentious opinions.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, August 1, the 47-year-old comedian made his thoughts on one of the network's most well-known conservative political commentators crystal clear.

And while Fox has been the home of the hit show since 1999, if it were up to him, it would air on any other network.

"Tucker Carlson's latest opinion piece once again makes me wish Family Guy was on any other network. Look, Fox, we both know this marriage isn't working anymore. The sex is only once a year, I don't get along with your mother, and well… I've been having an affair with NBC," MacFarlane tweeted.

While it's not known what "opinion piece" he was referring to in his recent tweet, Carlson has expressed a number of controversial views with regard to the effectiveness of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Not only this, but the host went as far as to suggest that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical adviser to Joe Biden and a member of Donald Trump's former White House Coronavirus Task Force, "created" Covid.

MacFarlane's tweet comes after Deadline reported that he signed a "mega TV overall deal" with NBCUniversal Content Studio last year and ended his relationship with 20th Century Fox Television.

The showrunner has also incorporated scenes into his hit animated show Family Guy, criticizing the network in its usual satirical manner.

Back in 2018, MacFarlane said he was "embarrassed" to have the show air on the same network as Tucker Carlson, as per the Independent.

MacFarlane's most recent comments about Fox and Carlson come after a man was filmed confronting Tucker at a sporting goods store in Livingston, Montana.

The footage was posted to Instagram on July 24 by a man named Dan Bailey, who wrote:

"It’s not everyday you get to tell someone they are the worst person in the world and really mean it! What an a**hole!

"This man has killed more people with vaccine misinformation, he has supported extreme racism, he is a fascist and does more to rip this country apart than anyone that calls themselves an American."

Check out the video below:

Bailey can be seen calling Carlson "the worst human being known to mankind", before adding: "What you have done to people’s families, what you have done to everyone else ― "

Carlson then calls Bailey "son" before walking away at the end of the incident.
