An increasing number of those in the public eye are speaking out on last week's violent and deadly storming of the US Capitol by Trump supporters.
One of these people is late-night host Seth Meyers.
Yesterday, the comedian used the "Closer Look" segment on his show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, to slam Donald Trump - who he said incited a "mob of right-wing terrorists" - and the Republican Party as a whole.
This is the moment Seth Meyers slams Trump and the Republican Party in the wake of the storming of the US Capitol:Meyers said: "The sitting President of the United States is the leader of a violent insurrectionist movement who incited a seditious mob of right-wing terrorists to ransack the Capitol and overthrow American democracy.
He continued: "And every day that he remains in office, he's a threat to continue inciting violence and breaking the law, including possibly pardoning himself and others.
"Impeachment and removal are the bare minimum we should expect from our elected leaders."
Meyers went on to criticize some Republicans for the way they acted in the lead-up to the breach of the Capitol building and in the wake of it.
"Let me begin by doing my part to begin the healing process, bring down the temperature, and tone down the rhetoric by saying this: F**k you, you cretinous insurrectionist gargoyles," he added.
"Of course, you guys want to move on. The kid who s**t himself at prom is the one who always wants to shift the conversation to everyone’s summer plans," Meyers continued.
"You guys incited a violent mob that rampaged across the Capitol trying to overthrow the government and now you want us to seek unity and healing?
"I’d call you craven, soulless ghouls, but in the case of these seditionist dips**ts, they’re more like soul-devouring ghouls. How can we find unity with people who literally want a Confederacy?"
Trump has been accused of inciting Wednesday's storming of the US Capitol by continuing to repeat his unfounded claims that: "We had an election stolen from us".
Per CNN, the pro-Trump protestors attempted to obstruct the ceremonial counting of the electoral college votes to affirm Joe Biden's victory in the US 2020 Presidential Election.
The outlet also states that the breach of the Capitol delayed the process of affirming Biden's impending presidency as the House and Senate were forced to find shelter when the riots broke out.
Four civilians and one Capitol police officer died amid the chaos.
