Seth Rogen has devastatingly announced that his beloved family dog Zelda passed away at the of 13.
The 41-year-old actor took to his Instagram page to share a lengthy tribute dedicated to his precious pet that he knew since she was a puppy.
Alongside the heartbreaking statement, the Superbad star added a series of pictures of Zelda with his 41-year-old wife, Lauren Miller Rogen.
"We said goodbye to our perfect girl Zelda on Thursday, May 4th," Rogen began. "She was almost 14 years old. She was truly the most special, magical creature."
Read Rogen's statement below:"She taught us about love, resilience, strength, and kindness. We loved her more than words can describe. Everyone who met her saw what a unique little puppy she was," he continued.
"She'd stare into your soul with her gigantic buggy eyes. She was so judgmental, that when she loved you, you really knew you earned it, and it made you feel like you had won. She had an incredible life and was lucky to have so many friends and shared her special love with so many people."
"She was a girl who was so shy no one adopted her as a baby who became a girl who traveled to multiple countries, appeared in three movies, on two magazine covers, and inspired countless works of Zelda art - including a lighter that is now in the homes of hundreds of people," he added.
The Neighbors actor also included a list of qualities about Zelda that stood out including: "Her big eyeballs and her intense eye contact" as well as "the way the fur on her legs looks like culottes from the back".
"The way she would sit and wait to be called to walk through the metal detectors at the airport and then she’d run through them and everyone would comment about what a good girl she was," he wrote.
Rogen concluded the emotional post by noting that he and the actress "belonged" to their special pet and that they will "miss her forever".
Many users including fellow celebrities took to the comment section to send their condolences, with actress Mindy Kaling penning: "Zelda was the best. So sorry to hear this," while Paris Hilton said: "So sorry for your loss."
A neighbor of the pair commented: "You used to live near us in West Hollywood and we would see you walking her. She was the cutest thing ever. I'm so sorry Seth. sending you all the love, from someone who lost her best friend a few years ago as well."



Zelda even had her own Twitter account - which currently has almost 3,000 followers - which posted updates about Rogen and the Like Father actress' latest movies.
Back in August 2020, the Pineapple Express actor expressed his love for his dog on her 11th birthday by writing on Instagram: "I feel incredibly grateful to spend my time with such a wonderful, special, loving little creature."
