Sofia Vergara has wowed fans with her radical new look.
The Modern Family actress has transformed for her role as a chain-smoking Colombian drug lord in the upcoming Netflix drama Griselda.
Also known as the Black Widow and the Cocaine Godmother, Griselda Blanco was one of the biggest cartel lords in the Miami underworld during the 1980s and 2000s.
In a first photo from the series released by streaming giants Netflix, the usually glamorous Vergara looks almost unrecognizable thanks to a matted brown whig and aging makeup.
Vergara, 49, also shared a sneak peek of the show on her Instagram, along with a caption expressing her pride in the project.
"This has been a passion project of mine for many years!" she wrote.
"So happy for being able to be a part of creating all of these job opportunities for latino actors and for me to FINALLY be able to work alongside an incredible Latin American cast and director! To bring this story to life is a dream come true!" she added, before tagging other members of the cast and crew.
When the show was first announced last fall, Vergara spoke about her new role.
"Griselda Blanco was a larger-than-life character whose ruthless but ingenious tactics allowed her to rule a billion-dollar empire years before many of the most notorious male kingpins we know so much about," she said, per The Sun.
When she died in 2012, Griselda Blanco was known as one of the most dangerous women in the world.
The role is certainly a far cry from Vergara's most famous character - the doting mother Gloria who she played in all 11 seasons of beloved sit-com Modern Family.
Modern Family won multiple Emmys and turned Vergara into a huge star. But since the final episode of the show aired in 2020, the actress has been sure to keep busy.
Alongside starring in Griselda, she recently announced that she'd be returning to the small screen as a Judge on NBC's America's Got Talent.
Speaking about her switch from acting to reality TV, Vergara said: "I'm so happy to join my new family on AGT. This is a new and exciting next chapter for me and I'm extremely proud to be the first Latin judge on the show."
