For years, football fans have been obsessed with a wild theory: that the official Super Bowl logo predicts which two teams will face off in the big game — long before the playoffs even begin.
And now, with Super Bowl LIX upon us, the theory is back in full force.

When the logo for the 2025 Super Bowl was revealed in February 2024, it featured two dominant colors — red and green.
Fast forward to game day, and who’s playing? The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Coincidence? Maybe. But considering this isn’t the first time it’s happened, plenty of fans are convinced the NFL might be giving away its own championship matchups without even realizing it.
The Super Bowl Logo Theory: What Is It?
The idea is simple: The colors used in the Super Bowl logo somehow manage to predict which two teams will make it to the championship.
Since the logos are designed well in advance, some fans believe they serve as an unintentional sneak peek at the final matchup.

It may sound far-fetched, but history keeps backing it up.
When Did Fans Start Noticing the Trend?
For years, the Super Bowl logos were practically identical, with little more than a Roman numeral swap each season. But things changed in 2022, when the logo for Super Bowl LVI featured an orange hue similar to the Cincinnati Bengals’ colors and a yellow shade that matched the Los Angeles Rams.
The result? Bengals vs. Rams in the Super Bowl.
A year later, the Super Bowl LVII logo showcased red and green — and sure enough, the final matchup was the Chiefs vs. the Eagles.

At that point, the theory had serious momentum, but it hit a snag in 2024 when the Super Bowl LVIII logo featured purple and red—colors that didn’t quite match either of the teams that ended up in the game, the Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
With that, some fans thought the streak was over.
The 2025 Logo Brings the Theory Back to Life
Just when it seemed like the theory might be debunked, the 2025 Super Bowl logo came along — once again featuring red and green. And once again, the Chiefs and the Eagles are playing for the Lombardi Trophy.
After three accurate predictions in four years, social media is buzzing with speculation that the Super Bowl logo may be more than just an artistic design choice.
Will This Theory Hold Up in 2026?
The NFL has never commented on the logo conspiracy, and chances are it’s just a fun coincidence.
But fans will undoubtedly be watching closely when the Super Bowl LX logo drops next year — because if those colors happen to match the final two teams again, this might be more than just a theory after all. (It may certainly influence my bets for next year!)
