Conor McGregor has announced his retirement from the UFC and professional fighting... again.
The 31-year-old former UFC Featherweight Champion and UFC Lightweight Champion made the announcement on Twitter to his 8.1 million followers on the heels of last night's UFC250 event.
He wrote alongside a picture of him and his mom, Margaret McGregor:
"Hey guys I’ve decided to retire from fighting. Thank you all for the amazing memories! What a ride it’s been!
Here is a picture of myself and my mother in Las Vegas post one of my World title wins! Pick the home of your dreams Mags I love you!
Whatever you desire it’s yours."
The announcement comes nearly five months after his last appearance in the Octagon; a victory over Donald Cerrone at UFC246.
However, longtime fans of McGregor will know that this is not the first time he has announced his retirement from the sport.

In fact, "The Notorious One" made a similar announcement in March of last year, writing on social media:
"Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as 'Mixed Martial Art' today.
"I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition. I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement.
"Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas!"
And then back in April of 2016, McGregor also made the announcement that he would be retiring young, informing his Twitter followers:
"I have decided to retire young. Thanks for the cheese.
"Catch ya's later."
So... I guess we'll have to wait and see whether or not McGregor will, in fact, remain out of the Octagon for good.
As of this writing, McGregor's UFC record currently stands at 22 wins and 4 losses.
His two most recent and infamous losses in Dana White's promotion came against Nate Diaz (which he later avenged) and Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
McGregor also gained further international attention for his fight with undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather back in 2017. Despite losing to "Money" Mayweather, Forbes states that McGregor reportedly took home $80 million for that bout.

Per ESPN, McGregor told reporter Ariel Helwani that he would like a rematch against Mayweather in the future:
"I'd like to rematch Floyd. I think we should rematch Floyd. I mean, he's flirting with it, and they want all this. And he can go and pick someone else. It's not gonna be the same. It's not. I've done phenomenal in that bout."
However, he also spoke out about a potential fight with boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, saying: "But also, I would be open to other boxing bouts. You know, Manny [Pacquiao]. We're actually close to signing Manny. There's been talks about the Manny fight as well."
