It has been announced that Donald Trump will be providing commentary for an alternate broadcast of the upcoming Evander Holyfield vs Vitor Belfort boxing match.

As reported by Fox News, the former president of the United States will be joined by son Don Jr to provide a special commentary separate from the main telecast fight - which marks 58-year-old Holyfield's first boxing match in 10 years.

The boxing great's last bout came on took place on May 7, 2011 against Brian Nielsen - which Holyfield won by TKO.

In a press release, per Fox News, 75-year-old Trump said: "I love great fighters and great fights."

"I look forward to seeing both [boxers] this Saturday night and sharing my thoughts ringside. You won’t want to miss this special event," he added.

The father-son commentary will be available on Triller, a video-sharing platform that has previously recruited Snoop Dogg and Pete Davidson to provide their commentary for past fights.

ESPN reports that Triller has confirmed that Trumps will be providing their play-by-play analysis of the entire four-fight telecast. Also on the card is Anderson Silva vs. Tito Ortiz, David Haye vs. Joe Fournier, and Andy Vences vs Jono Carroll.

In response to the announcement, one person tweeted: "You've got to be kidding me....this is must watch tv [sic]".

However, a second joked: "Is he going to talk about how the loser didn’t really lose and how the fight was stolen from them?"

The event will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Holyfield agreed to step in as a last-minute replacement for Belfort's original opponent, Oscar De La Hoya, who tested positive for Covid-19.

A former Olympian, undisputed cruiserweight champion, and only four-time world heavyweight champion in the sport's history, Holyfield will still have his work cut out to beat former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, who is 14 years his junior.

Their eight-round fight has been sanctioned as a professional bout, and not an exhibition.

The pay-per-view event will cost $49.99, with Jim Lampley providing commentary on HBO. This cant-miss night will take place on Saturday, September 11.
