Floyd Mayweather accused by fans of 'holding up' Logan Paul after 'knocking him out'

Floyd Mayweather has been accused by his fans of "holding up" Logan Paul.

The highly-anticipated exhibition fight between the influencer and the boxing legend took place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday, June 6.

To the surprise of many, the 26-year-old YouTuber managed to successfully make it through all eight rounds; since the fight could only be won via knockout, technical knockout, or disqualification.

However, when footage of the fight emerged on social media, a number of Twitter users began to speculate that Mayweather might have actually covered up a knockout and held up Paul while struggling against him.

Sharing a video of the match, one Twitter user wrote: "Floyd Mayweather actually knocked out Logan Paul, but held him up during the fight to carry it through."

Meanwhile, someone else added: "The whole thing is rigged like WWE. It isn’t sport, it’s the equivalent of a soap opera in America. Embarrassing. [sic]"

A third person chimed in: "You could tell he was going out cold by his head movement it looked like he passed out."

Another added: "Floyd was making sure every last dollar got milked. What a businessman. Wow."

While a fourth wrote: "Yeah the fight was fake af. Logan never had a chance and it became clear. [sic]"

However, others were quick to defend the fight as legit, with one Twitter user writing: "Please take this tweet down. Logan was perfectly fine and coherent even on the stool. Floyd's weak hands aren't doing it. [sic]"

Meanwhile, another boxing fan wrote: "This was never a knockout, it’s called getting 'Buzzed' your legs and body go out for like 2-3 seconds but people recover from it. [sic]"

Indeed, Mayweather himself appeared to be surprised by how long his vlogger contender lasted in the ring, stating in a post-match interview with Sky Sports that Paul was: "A great young fighter. Strong, tough."

Mayweather continued: "He’s better than I thought he was. He’s a tough, rough competitor. It was good action. I was surprised by him tonight; a good guy.

"Even though he doesn’t have much experience, he knew how to use his weight and he knew how to tie me up tonight."
