However, when images of the former Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards star appeared on social media, fans expressed concern rather than celebration.

The pics were shared on Instagram by the sports page Bleacher Report - and it wasn't long before social media users rushed to the comments section to share their concerns after seeing the GOAT's eyes.

The New York Post reports that many people were concerned about what appeared to be a discoloration of Jordan's sclera (or, the white part of the eye).

"Hope everything’s okay," one concerned Instagram user wrote.

Another worried fan added: "Does he have Jaundice??? His eyes are way too yellow."

Per WebMD, there are a number of conditions that can cause a yellowing of the eyes - some more serious than others.

Jordan hasn't publicly commented on any health issues nor did his rep return to The Post with a comment, however, a source close the the NBA legend did tell the Daily Mail that the star is perfectly fine.

"Mike is OK," the source told the Mail. "He goes to the doctor, he is just getting older and the recent pics are in no way or should be a reason for concern

"There is nothing wrong with him. Like everyone, we should get a little more exercise and Mike enjoys the life he has made for himself, but there isn't any hidden illness that he is dealing with."

The source added that Jordan is apparently "embarrassed" by the comments, but does "appreciate the concern".

"The next time we see him, it will be dramatically different and he will look much better, he will bounce back," the source added.

It's great to hear Jordan is perfectly fine - I guess some people just struggle seeing their heroes age over the years. Nevertheless, he's still the GOAT.
