An athlete named Zheng Haohao, from the People’s Republic of China, has shocked everyone after making her Olympic debut at just 11 years old - becoming the Paris Games' youngest athlete.

The youngster has only been a professional in the industry for the last two years and has already participated in the skateboarding competition at the major event.

To put things into perspective, Haohao, who made a late surge at the Olympic Qualifier Series in Shanghai and Budapest, was born a day before the conclusion of the 2012 London Olympics.

Haohao's profile has baffled so many social media users that they are questioning their own age.

"Crikey.... this makes me feel old," one user commented on X (formerly Twitter), while another said: "Zheng Haohao was born during the London Olympics. I feel hideously old."

A third quipped: "I didn’t care about the world when I was 12," and a fourth added on Instagram: "2012?? That’s not a baby?? lol 2012 was yesterday!!"

After finding out her age, some people feel there should be an age limit in the sporting events. "I thought minimum age to compete was 16...what happened to that?" a second person penned.

However, according to the International Olympic Committee, there is no specific age limit for participating in the games.

The Olympian, who turns 12 later this month on August 12, scored 63.19 points in the preliminary contest in the women's park competition and was eliminated in the first round. She finished in 18th place after she fell in two of her runs.

Haohao maintained positive vibes and did not let her age deter her from enjoying her time at the Olympics, stating: "I'm very proud of myself. I feel tired and happy," per USA Today.

"Honestly, I wasn’t too nervous. My family was here cheering me on. I’m very happy. It was an experience to be here. I’d like to come back in Los Angeles 2028," she added.

Congratulations on your remarkable achievements, Haohao!
