Yes, this is not for the faint-hearted.

MMA fighter Gabriel Benitez managed to continue fighting through two rounds against his opponent on Wednesday, despite suffering one of the worst leg injuries seen in the promotion's history.

Benitez sadly lost his bout against Omar Morales at UFC Fight Night in Jacksonville, Florida - but Morales' extending his undefeated MMA streak was far from the story on everybody's lips when the match ended.

Viewers were left horrified after the UFC production team decided to treat the fans to a closer look at the nasty shin gash Benitez has suffered in the second round.

You can watch the video below (Viewer discretion is advised):

The shin split occurred when Morales checked a Benitez kick. It was several inches long and down to the bone. Over the course of the fight, it continued to widen, leaving the commentary team stunned.

Despite the injury, Benitez managed to continue and fought well - however, he later lost 30-27, 29-28, 29-28 on points.

Benitez later shared a snap of the wound with his 18.8K Instagram followers, along with the caption: "Real power kick".

And, as you'd probably expect, social media erupted with comments, many of which hailed Benitez a "warrior".

The prelim fight was one of 10 fights arranged by the UFC in Florida amid the ongoing pandemic in the States. Wednesday marked the second behind-closed-doors event they MMA promotion has done and the UFC will hold it’s third event in a week in Jacksonville on Saturday night.

The WWE is currently also running their weekly television shows and pay-per-view events behind closed doors in Orlando.
