Former WWE superstar Virgil - real name Michael Jones - has died at the age of 61.
The news of the pro-wrestling legend's death was shared on his official Instagram account to his 50,000+ followers.
In a post, a statement read: "This is to confirm the sad news about our beloved Meatsauce God and Wrestling Superstar Virgil/Michael Jones has passed away.
"There is so much to say here and would love to share stories but for now it’s a rough day as our friend is gone. We would only ask at this time to remember him as the man that he was. Wishing him all the unlimited pasta in heaven. We love you Mike."
Jones is probably best known by his in-ring moniker "Virgil" during his time with the WWF/WWE.
During his run in the company, he was known for being the right-hand man and servant of "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (and briefly, his son, Ted Dibiase Jr. in 2010).
His biggest storyline in the company saw him fight back against his evil employer, eventually capturing the Million Dollar Championship at the 1991 SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
Following his first departure from the company, Jones would go on to appear in WWE's biggest competitor - World Championship Wrestling (WCW) - where he was known was "Vincent" (believed to be a joke against WWE owner Vince McMahon).
During his time in WCW, he was often aligned with the nWo Hollywood faction.
Jones made his in-ring debut in 1987 in Tennessee, per WWE.com. During that time, he teamed with the legendary Rocky Johnson - who is also known for being Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's dad - to capture the AWA Southern Tag Team Championship.
Following his runs in these companies, Jones would eventually make his return to primetime wrestling in 2019 - appearance alongside Chris Jericho in All Elite Wrestling as Soul Train Jones.
Jones was known to fans for his love of Olive Garden, pasta, and unlimited breadsticks - hence why he would often refer to himself as "The Meatsauce God", "The Alfredo Assassin", and "The Breadstick Boss", and why so many fan tributes will make reference to Italian food.
"RIP... Breadsticks on me everybody," one fan wrote.
A second added: "I woke up this morning and put on my Virgil shirt. A couple hours later the news broke. Meat sauce and breadsticks for dinner."
There's no doubt Jones made on impact on all wrestling fans out there - and was always entertaining when he was on-screen.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans at this time.
