Harrowing footage shared online reveals fans chanted for water at Taylor Swift's sweltering concert in Brazil, where one young woman sadly died.

The 33-year-old 'Anti Hero' hitmaker performed on-stage to a sold-out crowd at Rio de Janeiro's Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos stadium on Friday (November 17) night.

Temperatures soared in the Latin American nation, with Brazilian media reporting that the heat index inside the packed venue reached 60C, per The Independent.

Shocking fan-filmed videos are now circulating on social media and show scenes of attendees pleading for water as the heat became too unbearable for them.

Watch Swift fans chant for water below:

In one video, Swift is seen talking to the crowds after pausing her 'Evermore' segment, and telling the venue staff: "There are people that need water right here, maybe 30, 35, 40 feet back."

"So whoever is in charge of giving them that, just make sure that happens. Can I get a signal that you know where they are?" she asked.

In another video taken from the same angle, fans could then be heard chanting "water, water, water," to which the singer says: "We don't need to chant, it's totally fine."

"We just need to get water to them. Does anyone here have water?" she added

In addition to this, during her performance of 'All Too Well (10 Minute Version)', the songstress was seen grabbing a bottle of water from employees, and throwing it to fans who were in need.

The videos emerged after it was reported by Brazilian newspaper Fohla De Sao Paolo that a fan named Ana Clara Benevides sadly passed away after suffering a medical emergency at Swift's show in Brazil.

The publication shared that the 23-year-old concertgoer fainted and reportedly experienced a cardiac arrest while at the stadium.

Her cousin, Estela Benevides, revealed that Ana was transported to the Salgado Filho Municipal Hospital, where she died of cardiorespiratory arrest.

Benevides tragic death took place before Swift took to the stage when the show began at around 7:30PM local time, as reported by BBC News.

Swift is believed to have been completely unaware of Ana's untimely passing as she took to the stage, and has since issued a heartbreaking statement on Instagram expressing her devastation.

"I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. I can’t believe that I’m writing these words, but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show," she penned.

"There’s very little information I have, other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young," she continued, before stating that she would not be talking about the death on stage that evening.

"I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends," the singer said, adding that this was the "last thing I thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil."

Swift is set to perform to fans over three shows in the capital city, with three more scheduled for the following weekend in Sao Paulo.

Our thoughts continue to go out to Benevides' family at this time.
