It was revealed on August 29 that Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman passed away after a four-year battle with colon cancer.
Now, the final tweet from the 43-year-old actor's Twitter account has become the social media platform's most-liked post ever.
The tweet was posted on August 29 and it features a monochrome photograph of the actor alongside a statement from his family announcing his death.
At the time of writing, the tweet has been liked over 6.5 million times and received over three million retweets and comments.
Twitter subsequently announced on their official Twitter account that the record for the most-liked tweet had been broken, describing the post as "a tribute fit for a King" - a reference to Boseman's Black Panther character King T'Challa.
In a statement cited by NME, Twitter said: "Fans are coming together on Twitter to celebrate the life of Chadwick Boseman, and the Tweet sent from his account last night is now the most Liked Tweet of all time on Twitter."
Boseman's penultimate tweet was posted on August 9 and was a show of support for Democratic Vice President candidate Kamala Harris.
The actor, who was also known for his roles in Get on Up and 42, posted a picture of himself and Harris embracing at Harris' "We Belong Together" campaign and it was simply captioned: "YES".
Following the announcement of the 43-year-old's sudden death from cancer, tributes to the actor began to flood in from around the world from Chadwick's fellow actors and fans alike.
The Tonight Show, for example, shared heartwarming footage of Chadwick surprising Black Panther fans as they explained how much the movie means to them.
Per NME, Marvel Studios also issued a statement in tribute to Boseman that read: "Our hearts are broken and our thoughts are with Chadwick Boseman's family. Your legacy will live on forever. Rest In Peace."
