Netflix has become many people's best friend during the coronavirus lockdown.

Because let's face it, key workers aside, almost all of us have more time on our hands than usual, and during this difficult time, escapism through a brilliant movie or TV show is more important than ever.

And while the Netflix original docuseries Tiger King may have left our jaws unanimously on the floor, the streaming service now has a much more wholesome offering: The Land Before Time.

This is the moment the movie's star Littlefoot was born:

If you're anything like me, the 1988 movie, executively produced by Steven Spielberg, almost certainly rings a nostalgic childhood bell. I lost count of the number of times I had my parents rent it in the 90s - back when rental stores were still very much a thing.

The movie follows the life of Littlefoot, a young Apatosaurus dinosaur, who tragically finds himself orphaned after his mom is killed by a vicious t-rex.

Things then go from bad to worse for poor Littlefoot when he's separated from his herd by an earthquake, so he goes on a mission to find the fabled land his mom told him about: The Great Valley.

Netflix announced that the childhood classic was available to stream on social media.

Thankfully, Littlefoot doesn't have to journey to The Great Valley alone, and on his way, he meets other baby dinosaurs who've been separated from their families - Cera the Triceratops (aka 'Threehorn'), Petrie the Pteranodon ('Flyer'), Ducky the Saurolophus ('Bigmouth') and Spike the Stegosaurus ('Spiketail').

Starring Gabriel Damon (Littlefoot), Candace Hutson (Cera), Judith Barsi (Ducky) and Will Ryan (Spike), The Land Before Time has a rating of 7.4 stars out of 10 on IMDB and 72 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

In short, The Land Before Time is the perfect nostalgic quarantine watch, and not only that but thanks to Netflix Party, it's possible for you to reminisce with your friends.
