There's no doubt that, among gamers, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is considered to be one of the best first-person-shooter games ever made. Until the classic title - made by developer Activision - appeared on the shelves, shooters tended to be sci-fi romps, like Half-Life or Halo.
But with Call of Duty, the developers chose to focus on contemporary military realism; with a gripping storyline about a crisis in the Middle East and Russian nationalist insurgency.
Check out the trailer for the Call of Duty multiplayer below:The story had many memorable levels, but it was the online multiplayer mode that gripped gamers and didn't let go. Soon millions of people were forming communities, ranking up, blasting away at each other on servers, and enjoying every minute of it.
Activision has recently announced that they will be releasing a reboot of the popular tactical franchise, to make its debut on October 25 of this year. Some fans were intrigued by the main campaign, but others are only interested in the multiplayer.
Now a trailer for the multiplayer mode has dropped on social media, and with it the jaws of CoD fans all around the world. The new multiplayer will feature a new game type called 'Gunfight', which pits two players against each other, and gives them only forty seconds per round to either kill the opposing team, or defend their own flag from capture.
Take a gander at some of the fan reactions to the trailer below: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.Sadly, the Modern Warfare reboot will be the first game in the series since 2013's Call of Duty: Ghosts not to feature the fan-favourite zombie mode. In its place will be a co-operative Spec Ops mode, which will be interwoven with the campaign's main storyline.
Personally, I can't wait until this title comes out. I'm gonna book off a whole week's holiday just to enjoy it properly.
