Following the Love Is Blind reunion episode that aired on Sunday, thousands have called for the hosts of the show to be removed from their positions.

It was the moment fans had been waiting for.

After what had been a rollercoaster of a season, the fourth season of Love Is Blind finally came to an end last week when the couples said "I do" - or, in some cases "I don't" - on their special wedding days.

Though things didn't go quite exactly the way some couples had hoped (sucks to be Paul and Micah) the reunion was supposed to be a place where all the contestants could gather and give us updates on their new lives post-show.

While we expected this year's villains Irina, Jackie, Josh, and Micah to come prepared to defend themselves, what we didn't expect was the hosts, Nick and Vanessa Lachey, to jump in and expose themselves like they did - particularly, Vanessa, whose line of questioning raised more than a few eyebrows.

Fans took to Twitter to express their opinions, stating that the pair appeared to have "no chemistry" with the cast members, which made the entire ordeal awkward.

"I just once again want to know what crimes Nick and Vanessa Lachey have witnessed for the execs to keep them on payroll. They’re so awkward as hosts and have no chemistry with the cast lol," wrote this viewer.

Beyond that, they were also slammed for their line of questioning, especially against some of this year's male contestants, Marshall and Paul.

"This reunion was TERRIBLE! I’ve always defended the Lacheys when people said they were terrible hosts but I’m not going to anymore. Nick barely said anything and Vanessa was so obviously biased towards Jackie and rude to Marshall," tweeted this outraged user.

"Vanesa Lachey owes Marshall and Paul an apology. She lacked tact and class. Beyond unprofessional," this user added, even tagging Netflix in their tweet.

In a new interview, cast member Paul himself felt that Vanessa had a "personal bias" against him while asking about his breakup with his ex, Micah.

"I was like, ‘F*** man.’ They kept drilling, drilling it down on me,” Paul told Entertainment Tonight. "I think I said my piece. I think Vanessa might have had a little bit of personal bias in that scenario or at least I kind of detected that. I don’t know. But that’s just my assumption based on how she continued to drill into it after I gave my full rationale for why I felt the way that I did."

Others had a lot to say about Vanessa's hosting techniques.

"Nick and Vanessa Lachey are terrible hosts. She asks all the wrong questions, takes the wrong sides and then goes, 'time to move on' before anyone’s answered a single thing," pointed out this user, while aother added: "The reunion is always nauseating to watch because of Vanessa Lachey. She picks sides, cuts people off, bullies the male cast, pushes motherhood onto women, and generally tries way too hard to be cool. Netflix please just let [Nick] do this solo."

Some fans even went as far as to start a petition to get the pair removed from the show.

A Change.org petition has been sweeping social media alleging that though the show is successful, it has "one big problem - the hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey."

The description continues: "From the initial season, the hosts felt pretty useless and out of place. They seem to be much more concerned with directing as much attention at themselves and their personal lives rather than focusing on the contestants that are actually participating in the experiment.

"Many enjoy the show but it’s being held back from its full potential with cringy Nick and Vanessa Lachey," it added.

And after the reunion episode hit our screens, the number of people signing the petition saw a dramatic spike, now standing at almost 19,000 signatures.

It seems as though the conversation around the topic is refusing to die as the numbers continue to increase every hour.

In an Instagram post after the reunion, Vanessa called for compassion when it came to discussing the show's participants on social media.

"I want to take a moment, on this platform, to acknowledge the intense vulnerability that goes into our show (each season). I’m so proud of this cast and their willingness to put themselves out there," she wrote.

"It wasn’t easy and this has been a LONG process to get to the reunion," she continued. "Please keep in mind online (and in life) that 'words have weight'. What you say to someone you don’t know (and don’t know the whole story to) can have a lasting effect on them... in many different ways. Mental health should always be treated with respect."

Vanessa has since disabled the comments on her posts after they were flooded with comments from Love Is Blind fans.
