"These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children," the television personality continued.

"I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family, and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives," Mowry concluded in her post which has 838,261 likes on the social media platform at the time of writing.

Before the news of their split, the Bratz actress shared two cryptic posts about love on social media. In a tweet made on Tuesday (October 4), she wrote: "I am love. I will only choose to see love. I hope you will too."

On Sunday (October 2), Mowry shared another tweet about needing to be understood, writing: "Reminder: You are enough. You deserve love. And you deserve to be understood for who you truly are."

The couple, who tied the knot in 2008, first met when Hardrict appeared on a 1996 episode of Sister, Sister. The two started dating in 2000 when Mowry had wrapped her popular sitcom with her twin Tamera Mowry.

At the time, Hardrict was trying to break out in Hollywood while working part-time as a K-Mart security guard. He recalled on Global Grind in 2015: "That's when I was just grinding man. I was waiting at a bus stop - after I shot my first film."

"Her sister and she drove by, they saw me waiting and asked to give me a ride. I was embarrassed. I was downtown. They gave me a ride and we were friends ever since. They took me to Inglewood, so that's how that relationship started," he added.

The pair married after eight years of dating and renewed their vows in 2013 during a romantic beach ceremony in Malibu, California.

In February 2021, Mowry and Hardrict opened up about how they make their marriage work during an interview on People the TV Show!.

"A lot of people, they ask Cory and I, like, 'What makes your marriage, you know, a great marriage?'" Mowry said. "And if I'm being really honest with you - and we've been doing this for years - we don't focus on specific gender roles."

"Meaning the women should just do one thing and then the men should just do one thing," the Seventeen Again actress explained. "It's a team effort at our house."

Also, earlier this year, the Disney Channel alum celebrated the couple's 14th wedding anniversary with a sweet tribute to her soon-to-be former husband on Instagram: writing: "I've loved you for 22 years and I'll love you for a million more."
