Travis Kelce has broken his silence on his romance with Taylor Swift.

Initially, the NFL star shared the story about shooting his shot with Swift during an episode of his New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles, stating that he tried to give her a friendship bracelet with his number written on it.

The football player then opened up about his plan to grab her attention during an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, saying: "I threw it out there. I threw the ball in her court. I told her, 'I've seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead [Stadium], you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one is a little more lit.'"

He added: "So, we'll see what happens in the near future. Alright now."

Other than that, Kelce hasn't gone into detail about how the pair came to be... until now.

In a new interview for the cover of WSJ Magazine's December/January issue, the athlete got candid about the details of his relationship with the 33-year-old Grammy-award-winning superstar.

"I don’t know if I want to get into all of it," Kelce said during the discussion with the outlet, before reflecting on his unsuccessful first attempt to meet the musician at her Eras Tour show in July.

"There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said]: 'Yo! Did you know he was coming?' I had somebody playing Cupid," Kelce explained, adding that he eventually found that nugget of information out when Swift contacted him directly.

"She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out," he added.

We stan that level of confidence.

And it seems as though luck continued to be on the Kansas City Chief's player's side as he got a little bit of extra help in grabbing Swift's attention.

"She’ll probably hate me for saying this, but... when she came to Arrowhead [Stadium], they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room, and her little cousins were taking pictures... in front of my locker," he said.

When asked about his first meeting with the 'Love Story' singer, he said: "When I met her in New York, we had already kind of been talking, so I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there."

Well, there's no doubting that clearly the pair were instantly attracted to one another and things only continued to get better as the pair explored their connection, with Kelce's own mother, Donna, admitting that her son had "never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them" before Swift.

"I’ve never dealt with [Swift's level of fame]," Kelce added, before going on to detail how much the 33-year-old has to deal with on a daily basis.

"But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it," he continued. "The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that, I better not be the one acting all strange."

Kelce, who referred to his lover as "hilarious" as well as a "genius," also revealed that he and the pop superstar share a similar outlook on family and work.

"Everybody knows I’m a family guy," he said. "Her team is her family. Her family does a lot of stuff in terms of the tour, the marketing, being around, so I think she has a lot of those values as well, which is right up my alley."

Well, let's hope this one works out for a lifetime because we're already committed.

Travis Kelce's WSJ Magazine issue will be available to purchase from December 9.
