In the wake of the newfound love between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, the NFL star has seen a sudden boost in popularity amongst his personal brand which fans are now calling 'The Taylor Swift effect.'
Now, when we first heard about Kelce shooting his shot with the 33-year-old singer, we were a little bit cautious given the fact that Swift had not only endured one of the biggest break-ups in her life just months prior, but she had also re-bounded with the likes of Matty Healy - but we're trying to forget about the latter.
But things have started heating up again after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end admitted that he was pursuing Swift after finding out she was single again.
After attending one of her shows at her coveted Eras Tour in July, Kelce opened up about giving the 'Love Story' hitmaker his number on a friendship bracelet during an episode of his podcast New Heights with his brother, Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The football player then gave us a heads-up about his plan to win her over during an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, saying: "I threw it out there. I threw the ball in her court. I told her, 'I've seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead [Stadium], you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one is a little more lit.'
"So, we'll see what happens in the near future. Alright now," he added.
Fast forward a few days and here we are.
Swift attended a game on Sunday where the Chiefs defeated the Chicago Bears at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City - and Kelce even managed to score a touchdown, much to the happiness of his new love interest who watched on from the glass box in the crowd, next to his mom.
Since then, fans have been following both stars and their interactions closely, but Swifties, who are notoriously known for their loyalty, have been giving Kelce a personal boost.
It has been reported that the NFL star has seen a dramatic increase in social media followers as well as merch sales in the past few days.
Joe Pompliano, an online sports commentator and investor, reported that in a period of 24 hours after Sunday's game, the star had seven catches for 69 yards and a TD, gained 300,000+ social media followers, +400% increase in merchandise sales, and now has one of the top five selling jerseys in the NFL.
"That's the Taylor Swift effect," added Pompliano in his tweet which has now been viewed 17.9 million times.
Not a bad day at the office, eh?
We'll be keeping an eye out to see how this new OTP gets on...
