Tributes pour in for K-pop star Park Bo Ram who died suddenly age 30

Following the heartbreaking news surrounding the death of K-pop star Park Bo Ram, tributes have poured in for the late singer.

On Friday (April 12), representatives from Bo Ram's agency, Xanadu Entertainment, confirmed that the South Korean star had sadly passed away at the age of 30.

"Park Bo Ram suddenly left us in the late evening of April 11," a statement to All K-pop read. "Our hearts are deeply troubled as we deliver this sudden news to her fans. A wake and funeral proceedings will be scheduled after a discussion with the singer’s family."

As reported by Billboard, an investigation has been launched into Bo Ram's sudden death, with the Namyangju Police releasing initial details surrounding the singer's sudden passing.

Bo Ram - who was reportedly working on new music following the release of two new singles this year - had been at a friend's home when she reportedly excused herself to use the restroom.

After the singer failed to return, a concerned friend when to check on the star. Bo Ram was found unresponsive near a sink, and emergency services were called. Despite attempts to administer CPR and the prompt arrival of emergency services, Bo Ram was later pronounced dead upon arrival at Hanyang University Guri Hospital.

An autopsy has been requested as part of the investigation to ascertain further details.

Following the news, fans have flooded social media with tributes for the late singer.

Taking to X, one fan wrote: "RIP Park Boram, your voice and songs will be remembered forever."

Another tribute read: "RIP Park Boram.. Deepest condolences to all her family, friends, and loved ones. You'll be missed."

A third tweeted: "Just sitting back and looking at the Park Bo Ram news again and she was looking forward to her 10 year anniversary. Man this truly tragic and heartbreaking, RIP."

In a translated post on Instagram, singer Kim Grim - who appeared alongside Boram in Superstar K2 - also paid tribute to his late friend, and urged outlets and fans: "The cause of death is not yet accurate, so please refrain from writing speculative articles."

At the age of 17, Bo Ram entered the K-pop scene when she took part in the 2010 singing competition series, Superstar K2. Despite her young age, her passion for music propelled her to become one of the youngest - and most beloved - finalists in the competition, ultimately finishing in eighth place.

Her official debut in the industry came on August 7, 2014, with the release of her single 'Beautiful', featuring renowned rapper Zico. The song quickly ascended to the number 2 spot on South Korea's local Gaon singles chart.

Park's remarkable achievement was further recognized when she received the Artist of the Year award for the chart's top song of August at the 2014 Gaon Chart Music Awards.

Bo Ram is also known for her performances on Korean drama soundtracks like 'Hyehwadong (or Sangmundong)', which was used for the K-drama Reply 1988.

Throughout her young career, she has also collaborated with stars such as Eric Nam, Park Kyung, Parc Jae Jung, and Lil Boi.

Most recently, Bo Ram released the single 'I Miss You' on April 3 as part of a music cover project. She was reportedly working on an album to commemorate her upcoming 10th anniversary in the music industry.
