Serial cheater Tristan Thompson is now set to pay $9,500 a month in child support to his ex Maralee Nichols, who was pregnant with his baby while he was simultaneously expecting a second child via surrogate with Khloe Kardashian.
The 31-year-old Canadian's alleged adultery has been highly publicized in the media - especially after he was first caught reportedly cheating when Kardashian was pregnant with their first child True. Soon after, news broke that he had been unfaithful multiple times during her pregnancy.
Then, in February 2019, Thompson and Kardashian broke up following claims that he had cheated on her for a second time - in this instance, allegedly hooking up with Jordyn Woods, the ex-best friend of Kardashian's half-sister Kylie Jenner.
Kardashian and Thompson had reconciled again in August 2020, for the sake of their young daughter True. The 38-year-old mom-of-two had spoken at length about this in her family's reality show, The Kardashians. In fact, the Good American founder had detailed her plans to make a home for her, Thompson, and their daughter - even going as far as discussing the prospect of a second child together.
However, just days after the then-couple had found out their surrogate was pregnant with their second child, news broke that Thompson had cheated on Kardashian for a third time. The NBA player had also allegedly known for several months that he would be expecting a child with his mistress, even going as far as to offer her $75,000 to keep the news secret, TMZ reported.
He had initially denied that Nichols' child was his, but later apologised after a paternity test proved he was indeed the father.
Now, it seems that Nichols and Thompson have reached a settlement, with Thompson reportedly being ordered to pay $9,500 a month in child support for the pair's son, Theo. The outlet detailed that the amount is significantly lower than expected for someone of Thompson's caliber, as he is currently not signed to a basketball team and therefore unemployed.
TMZ also claims that Nichols, 31, will have sole custody of the child.
Kardashian - who eventually welcomed a son via surrogate in late July - was very transparent about how Thompson's serial cheating has affected her life, saying on season two of The Kardashians (via US Magazine): "Every single day, I've been feeling depressed and sad, and now that my son is here, I get to move on, and I get to enjoy."
She continued: "It's almost like I get to close that chapter and be done with this trauma and put it behind me. Now I finally get to start the healing process. Now I get to start enjoying my life with two kids in it and figuring this out."
