Hasbulla Magomedov has issued an apology after he and several of his friends were arrested for reckless driving in their hometown.

This past weekend, the 20-year-old social media influencer was filmed going for a wild car ride on the streets of Makhachkala - the capital of Russia's Republic of Dagestan.

It has been reported that the group was celebrating a friend's wedding by blocking traffic and performing burnouts, and donuts on a main road.

Footage was released of the internet personality - who is involved in the MMA world despite never fighting anyone in the octagon - and his friends at a local police station.

After the news broke, Hasbulla released a statement on Instagram about his actions which read: "We decided to hype a little bit. That won't happen again, people we apologize. We had to answer for it a little bit. I wasn't driving either."

According to The Sun, Dagestan's Internal Affairs Ministry shared the video of the incident on their Telegram channel and explained the scale of the celebrations which resulted in the arrests.

"Unbridled wedding fun in Dagestan is known to many and far beyond the borders of the republic," they wrote, per the outlet. "In the absence of other ways of entertainment, such a primitive option is still extremely popular."

"Blocking roads for other road users, burning rubber, smashing cars against each other, and many other features that, in fact, have nothing to do with the celebration."

"All participants of 'wedding emotions', as they themselves call it, were taken to the police, and in relation to them, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan drew up administrative protocols for all violations," they added.

The young star suffers from Growth Hormone deficiency and sparked his viral career in 2020 after sharing videos of his adventures in his hometown. He has since garnered more than 9 million followers on his Instagram page and has become a bonafide Internet sensation.

Back in March, he received backlash after posting a video online in which he is seen pulling his cat by the ear. He was criticized by many users - including animal rights supporters - who claimed he was abusing the animal.

But, Hasbulla insisted in another video that he had done nothing wrong and was instead disciplining his pet, stating: "Those brothers who think that I was beating the cat, pulled the ear, this and that... I pulled the ear gently."

"I know that people are waiting for the moment, if I write something wrong, to just attack me like this," he continued. "Like, 'you do this, you do that''. She was misbehaving and I just pulled the ear and that's it."

"I love my cat more than you. If I didn't love the cat, I wouldn't have it at home. My most lovely animal is a cat," he added. "And when she disobeyed, I scolded her a little. And you are attacking me for nothing."
