Woman uses her prosthetic leg to effortlessly catch home run at baseball game

A woman has stunned thousands of spectators at a ballpark in Chicago by catching a baseball in her prosthetic leg.

Shannon Frendreis, 27, whipped off her right leg and the flying baseball landed perfectly inside it.

What makes it more impressive is that Shannon admitted she swigged a grand total of five beers before the big moment.

The remarkable incident happened during Chicago White Sox's home Major League Baseball (MLB) game with Detroit Tigers.

Shannon, who kept the ball, captioned the viral TikTok video: "Five beers in and taking my leg off to catch a ball seemed like a great idea."

Shannon shared the video on TikTok where it has been viewed millions of times, and liked half a million times, at the time of writing.

The video instantly became a viral hit on other social media platforms, as Shannon's catching efforts were applauded by countless stunned users.

Ice hockey team the Dallas Stars wrote: "A star in the making," to which Shannon responded, writing: "I am beyond flattered Dallas, hockey is my number one! This was sick."

While another joked: "I've heard of getting the upper hand but never getting the upper leg."

Another added: "Let's talk about how you’re standing on one leg, five beers deep, catching a ball with your other leg! High five sis!"

"Took an arm and a leg to catch that ball," another wrote, before another added: "Instead of hold my beer, it's hold my leg! Legend."

Chicago White Sox are guaranteed to finish top of the American League Central after picking up 93 wins and reaching the postseason playoffs.

The season culminates in the World Series - the biggest prize in baseball - with the White Sox winning the last of their three titles in 2005.
