WWE legend Triple H has undergone a heart procedure last week after a cardiac event, the company said in a statement on Wednesday, September 8.
Triple H, whose real name is Paul Levesque, was expected to make a full recovery, per Fox News.
In an official statement, the company has said: "Paul Levesque, a.k.a. Triple H, underwent a successful procedure last week at Yale-New Haven Hospital following a cardiac event. The episode was caused by a genetic heart issue and Paul is expected to make a full recovery."
Triple H or his personal team are yet to release a public statement, allowing The Game to focus on his recovery.
The Game is a wrestling legend that will walk into the Hall of Fame upon his retirement.
Triple H is a 14-time world champion and can boast further stints with the Intercontinental and European titles as well as a tag team champion.
He is also one of seven wrestlers to have won multiple Royal Rumbles, with his wins in 2002 and 2016 ensuring he joins the list of Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Batista, John Cena, and Randy Orton.
Triple H also won the King of the Ring tournament in 1997.
Now, his in-ring days appear to be behind him as he has not fought in an official match in over two years.
He is also the leader of NXT - WWE’s development brand - with an official title of Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development. Triple H is married to Stephanie McMahon, WWE's Chief Brand Officer and daughter of Vince.
Last year, he "unofficially" retired from professional wrestling .
When asked about the chances of a return, the 14-time world champion told The Bill Simmons Podcast: "Right now, zero. I just feel like there's a moment where you go, 'I'm retired', but you're not."
He went on: "I'd rather just not say it and if the right opportunity comes up that everybody believes is right, and I believe I can do it without it falling apart, me or the match, then okay, I would consider it.
"I am not at a point where I would say, 'Absolutely not, under any circumstances, but probably not that far off.'
"The thing for me that's good is I'm so transitioned over and satisfied with the other aspects of my career and my life and everything else, I get as much fun and excitement out of watching others do it and succeed at it."
