Keke Palmer's boyfriend Darius Jackson has sparked backlash online after criticizing the outfit his girlfriend wore for Usher's concert.
In a series of Twitter posts on Wednesday (July 5), the 29-year-old - who is a fitness instructor and former college football player - called out the Hustlers actress for sporting a risqué black bodysuit under a sheer dress to watch Usher perform at his Las Vegas Residency.
Under a viral video of the 'Confessions' hitmaker embracing Palmer and serenading her with his song 'There Goes My Baby,' Jackson wrote: "It’s the outfit tho... you a mom." He was then quickly slammed by users for publicly shaming his partner - whom he shares a child with.
Read Jackson's tweets below:One user blasted: "I liked it better when we didn’t know who you were…," while another interjected: "Possession doesn’t usually go well in relationships, and you’re with an extremely famous person. Better grow thicker skin."
A third commented: "Darius. What possessed you to fix YOUR THUMBS AND TWEET THIS," and a fourth said: "So- she’s a new mom?? And? She looks SO great and is having a great time and not even doing too much."
"Instead of being dope & gassing new mama having fun, you chose to try & check her with a gossip blog quote, in front of the world? Why did you feel compelled to do such a thing?" they added.
After getting called out by the former Nickelodeon star's fans, Jackson still did not back down on his stance as he later tweeted: "We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is."
"This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case," he added.
The father-of-one also responded to a fan who empathized with him and advised him to keep his thoughts away from Twitter as people aren't "rational" on the social media platform.
"Last tweet of the day for sure. That's for the real one to understand," he replied.
The Nope actress has kept details of her relationship with Jackson private, however, she did go "Instagram official" with him in August 2021.
When appearing on The Tamron Hall Show last November, she opened up about posting the photo - that has now been deleted - and announcing her romance to the world.
"It became more difficult to hide," she said. "We spend all this time together, and he really is my closest friend, so it just becomes a thing where I'm not gonna hide something that makes me happy."
In February, the pair revealed that they welcomed a baby boy named Leodis Andrellton Jackson. Palmer took to her Instagram to share a series of snaps of herself in the hospital and even two heart-melting photos of her precious newborn. The caption read: "Hey Son!!!! Born during Black History Month, with a name to match! LEODIS ANDRELLTON JACKSON, welcome to the world baby Leo."
While the Akeelah and the Bee star didn't outright respond to Jackson's tweets, she did take to her social media to share more pictures of her stunning look at Usher's concert with the caption: "I wish I had taken more pictures but we were running late!"
