Now, as has been widely reported, it was announced last week that Broadway would be going dark amid the coronavirus outbreak, after NYC Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced measures to restrict gatherings with more than 500 people.

Per Variety, Charlotte St. Martin, president of the Broadway League, said at the time;
“Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of Broadway theatregoers and the thousands of people who work in the theatre industry every day, including actors, musicians, stagehands, ushers, and many other dedicated professionals.
“Broadway has the power to inspire, enrich and entertain, and together we are committed to making that vital spirit a reality. Once our stages are lit again, we will welcome fans back with open arms so that they can continue to experience the joy, heart, and goodwill that our shows so passionately express every night.”
And now, per Insider, to ease the potential boredom of self-isolating, BroadwayHD is offering a free seven day trial.
The company describes its mission statement thus, "BroadwayHD was created with the goal of making high-quality theater accessible to everyone globally.”
Per Insider, subscribers will be treated to an array of acquired performances including; Cats, The Sound of Music, and The King and I. There are also original performances of Kinky Boots and 42nd Street from Broadway, The West End, and other prestigious venues from all over the world.
BroadwayHD is currently offering a seven-day free trial, and thereafter costs an altogether agreeable $8.99 a month.
