Country star Zach Bryan was arrested in Oklahoma this week and has spoken out to let fans know what happened.

The news was first shared by TMZ with the outlet posting that the singer had been booked on an obstruction of investigation charge in Vinita, Oklahoma.

It was unclear at the time what had led to the arrest, which comes shortly after he got his first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with 'I Remember Everything', featuring Kacey Musgraves.

Bryan has since spoken out to address the reason for his arrest, sharing a five-minute video with his followers.

He'd initially shared a tweet telling them: "Today I had an incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Emotions got the best of me and I was out of line in the things I said.

"I support law enforcement as much as anyone can, I was just frustrated in the moment, it was unlike me and I apologize. They brought me to jail, and there is a mug shot of me floating around.

"Prayers we can all move on from this and prayers people know I’m just trying the best I can, I love you guys and I am truly sorry to the officers."

Bryan later added in the video message: "Around three days ago I was driving through this small town in Oklahoma and this is the beginning of all of it.

"I drive by this cop, I was going like four or five over. He pulls me over, he comes to my window and the first thing he asks for is license, registration, and my address.

"And I told him 'hey man, I don't really feel comfortable giving you my address, I'm a musician and I;m just not comfortable with it.'

"So he says, 'if you don't give me your address I'm going to have to take you to jail.' And I'm like, 'Man, I'm not gonna give you my address', so he tells me to step out of the vehicle, he puts handcuffs on me."

The singer added that he explained to the police officer why he didn't want to share his address but ended up giving it to him anyway, and he had the handcuffs taken off and was let go with a warning as he wasn't going "too fast".

Then a few days later he decided to drive to Boston to see the Birds play, but when he got around 40 minutes from his home he saw his security guard who was in the car behind him getting pulled over.

Bryan says he circled the block to pull up behind the car and was waiting inside until the interaction between his security and the police was done.

Around 15 minutes later he says he got out to see what was taking so long and to have a cigarette, and claims the police officer ordered him to get back into his vehicle, to which he responded: "I'm not the one getting pulled over."

He was then warned that he would be arrested if he didn't get back in the car, adding: "Like a dumba** I said, 'Take me to f**king jail? What do you mean?'"

Bryan admitted he got "too lippy" with the police officer and "didn't help his situation" as he "felt like a child" being told off.

He revealed that his cuffs were tight which was making him angrier and angrier, leading him to mouth off against the police officer when "in reality they were just doing their jobs".

Bryan says he "cooled down" when he got to the jail and even apologized to the officer, having shaken hands with him before he left.

He revealed that he wanted to explain what happened before "someone blew it out of proportion", adding: "I was just an idiot and I'll take the fall for it, I'm a grown man and I shouldn't have behaved like that and it won't happen again."
