Ever since the news of
Harvey Weinstein's horrific sexual assaults against dozens of women got out, allegations against other Hollywood personalities have been snowballing at an alarming rate.
Kevin Spacey, Charlie Sheen and Louis CK have all been outed as perpetrators of some form of inappropriate sexual behavior - but it doesn't seem like they will be the last to be exposed.
Ed Westwick, Robert Knepper and
Mariah Carey have all had allegations levelled against them, too. However, it seems that some accusations are being taken more seriously than others, as not all those who have been labelled as sexual fiends are actually being investigated.
Even so, that has not stopped more people from coming forward.
Most recently, Scott R. Brunton, a former model and Hollywood resident, came forward to say that he was the victim of a sexually inappropriate encounter with Star Trek actor, George Takei.
"This happened a long time ago, but I have never forgotten it," Brunton said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "It is one of those stories you tell with a group of people when people are recounting bizarre instances in their lives, this always comes up. I have been telling it for years, but I am suddenly very nervous telling it."
He went on to explain that the incident, which happened back in 1981, took place after Brunton had broken up with his boyfriend, and had turned to Takei for advice.
Takei, who was 44 years old at the time, invited the former model out for dinner, which Brunton accepted. The pair also went to the theatre.
During the evening, Brunton recounts that Takei "was very good at consoling me and understanding that I was upset and still in love with my boyfriend."
However, something changed when Takei invited the younger man back to his for a drink.
Despite the evening progressing without issue up until this point, Brunton claims that, after the second drink at Takei's condo, he felt "very dizzy and thought [he] was going to pass out."
Then, things became more sinister.
‘The next thing I remember I was coming to and he had my pants down around my ankles and he was groping my crotch and trying to get my underwear off and feeling me up at the same time, trying to get his hands down my underwear."
"I came to and said, 'What are you doing?! I don’t want to do this.'
"He goes, 'You need to relax. I am just trying to make you comfortable. Get comfortable.'
"And I said, 'No. I don’t want to do this.'
"And I pushed him off and he said, 'OK, fine.' And I said I am going to go."
After that, Brunton says he left the apartment.
"I managed to get my pants up and compose myself and I was just shocked. I walked out and went to my car until I felt well enough to drive home, and that was that."
Takei, who is quite well known as an advocate for social justice and equality, has yet to respond to these allegations.
