At just 28 years old, Margot Robbie already has an impressively illustrious acting career under her belt. In just the past few years, she starred as the Joker's twisted love interest, Harley Quinn, in Suicide Squad, as the real-life figure Tonya Harding in I, Tonya, and as Jane Clayton in the 2016 live-action remake of Tarzan.
This year, however, she is set to debut her most ambitious role yet: Queen Elizabeth I.
The notorious flame-haired monarch is well-recognised in British history, and has been depicted numerous times on the big screen before - albeit usually by older actors. So, when the often-glamorous Robbie was announced as the star of the film (alongside Saoirse Ronan, who will play Queen Mary), a lot of fans were curious to see how she'd pull off the role.

But, in a newly-released trailer, Robbie has shown that she certainly has what it takes.
Kitted out in full Tudor garb, a red wig, and a harshly-painted face, the Australian actress looks every bit as regal as Queen Elizabeth once did. And, according to Robbie, her outfit actually had a noticeable effect on other cast and crewmembers she was working with on-set, as many of them found it difficult to maintain eye contact with her.
"It was nothing intentional," she said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "but I could see that it was uncomfortable for them [to look at me], and the less they looked at me, the more isolated I felt."
As you'll see from the trailer, though, there are also points in the film where the monarch removes her guise in order to reveal a sickly, fine-haired woman - a reflection of the real Queen Liz, whose face was blighted by smallpox scars and whose hair fell out at a young age.
And this, again, is lightyears away from the actress' usual look.

Seriously, how can this be the same person we saw in The Wolf of Wall Street?
Many fans of the actress were similarly shook, and took to social media in order to share their opinions on the Suicide Squad star's new look.
Some thought she bore a striking resemblance to Pennywise, the clown from IT.

Others, meanwhile, saw more of a Tim Burton style to her look.

But many were just fixated on how totally badass she comes across as one of England's most notorious historical figures.

Speaking about her part in the movie, which follows the tumultuous relationship of Elizabeth and her sister, Mary, Robbie said: "Everyone manipulated their relationship. It’s complicated, it’s tragic, and it’s bizarre. The only other person in the world who could understand the position they were in was each other."
The film is set to be released in December of this year.

It's official: Margot Robbie is a chameleon. Just when you think you have her down, the 28-year-old actress transforms right in front of your eyes yet again. Think about it: from working-class US figure skater Tonya Harding, to crazed supervillain Harley Quinn, to virgin monarch Queen Elizabeth, you never quite know what's coming next with Margot.
However, her new role as Sharon Tate may be her most impressive yet, if the picture she uploaded to social media is anything to go by. On Monday morning, the Suicide Squad actress took to Instagram to share a sneak peek of herself as the murdered actress in upcoming film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The Academy Award-nominated channelled 1960s Hollywood as she wore a black polo-neck top, white mini-skirt and white boots, and leaned against a door in the image. The picture delighted fans on social media, who turned to the comment section to compliment her.
"Wonderful classic 60s look! Including below knee white boots with seam down the front! Very Emma Peel! Brilliant!?????", wrote Instagram user @waynerstagg. He was joined by fellow user @shaynastauber who expressed her excitement, putting "I’ve never been more excited for a movie in my life, looking bomb Mrs. Tate" and @zydrateaddict who commented saying "Cannot wait to see what you and the crew have in store for us! Such an awesome gang of talent on this project".

The actress' followers are right to be excited, given that the movie is directed by two-time Academy Award-winner Quentin Tarantino and boasts an all-star cast including Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Burt Reynolds, Timothy Olyphant, Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, Emile Hirsch and Tim Roth.
Tarantino described Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in a statement in February, calling it, "a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippie Hollywood." The film will follow Rick Dalton, (Leonardo DiCaprio) a struggling actor who starred in a Western TV series but failed to build a successful film career, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). "Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don't recognise anymore," wrote Tarantino. "But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbour ... Sharon Tate."

Tate, who was married to acclaimed film director Roman Polanski, was brutally murdered in her home by the Manson Family - a group of Charles Manson's most devoted followers - between August 8-9 in 1969. Her friends Wojciech Frykowski, coffee heiress Abigail Folger and celebrity hair stylist Jay Sebring were also killed, as well as Steven Parent, a friend of the family’s gardener. The night after, Manson’s followers Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, Leslie van Houten and Patricia Krenwinkel also murdered Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary.
Margot's Instagram post is not the first sneak peek audiences have been given of the film. Back in June, Leonardo DiCaprio shared a picture of him and Brad Pitt in costume, also captioning the image "First look"

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was originally slated for release on 9 August 2019, a date that would mark the 50th anniversary of the murders. However, it will now hit cinemas two weeks earlier on 26 July.

"Every Halloween I dress as a guy character because they are always the most fun. From day one, I never got the Halloween slutty costumes." She went on to say: "I thought, surely, everybody is going to cover up. But every other woman was in lingerie."
Now, let's not dog-pile on her right away. The word 'slutty' is not necessarily derogative, and Robbie may have meant it as a term of empowerment/endearment, a la slutwalk. Talking about her own personal preferences, that was just the word that seemed perfect for the time. As for Robbie's guy costume?"I went out as Jason from Friday the 13th, with my jumpsuit and machete."
Well, that sounds intimidating. But what do you think? Is Robbie out of line for criticizing 'slutty' costumes, or is she just giving her two cents, without judging, but rather just being puzzled, by those who opt to dress scantily? However, Robbie does encourage one group of people to dress up as Harley Quinn - men."I’ve always dressed up as guy characters, so to think that guys are now trying to take on Harley because she’s the coolest and the craziest—that’s pretty awesome. So many guys dressed up as her, which is my favorite thing."
She really encourages people to cross gender boundaries, which seems pretty prog, progressive. If men dressed u as Harley, with the short shorts, and women dressed up as Jason, with the giant imposing machete and hockey mask, well, maybe you'd have a society without gender roles! At least, for Halloween. Would you dress up as Harley Quinn for another Halloween? The character will be seeing no shortage of screen time, as she is slated to appear alongside The Joker in a 2019 film portraying their twisted, abusive, horrible relationship. We hope DC will have the good sense to make Quinn stand up against The Joker, or make The Joker a more nuanced character who actually cares for her. Either way, you'll be seeing much more of both Harley Quinn and Margot Robbie. In 2018 you'll be hearing her voice in the film Peter Rabbit, an animation of the legendary children's book character. It seems that no frontier, live action, animated or Halloween, can escape Robbie's charm. And why would you want to? She's one of the biggest and best female actresses of our day.uncategorised3 min(s) read
