Celebrities look amazing when they walk the red carpet, with their
immaculate make-up, perfectly styled hair and fancy formalwear. But although they may look flawless, and wear designer gowns that cost more than most people make in a year's salary, they're still human. It takes a lot of time to get 'red carpet ready.' And sometimes it's worth it to wear something uncomfortable (or awkward to take on and off), just because you love the way it looks.
At the L.A. Museum of Modern Art Gala, actress and activist Jane Fonda walked the red carpet, rocking a beautiful, form-fitting lace halter dress. As usual, the 80-year-old icon looks stunning. However, after sharing the glamorous picture with her Instagram followers, she followed it up with by sharing another picture, revealing that she was still wearing the dress the next morning! In this photo, the
Grace and Frankie star stands in her kitchen, making a sandwich, looking not-so-dolled up, with a flustered, what-the-hell-happened-last-night expression.

In the caption, Jane writes, "Here’s me the next morning. I couldn’t get my dress unzipped so I slept in it.. never wanted a husband in my life until now." It's a situation familiar to many women, and perhaps to many guys who've decided to venture outside their comfort zone for Halloween. You get home after long night, fumble for hard-to-reach zipper in the back and arch your body into a variety of awkward yoga positions to try to get a good grip. But eventually, you just give up, because you're too tired, and the bed's right there. You'll deal with in the morning!
In the comment section,
several women related to Jane's dilemma. "Girls gotta do what a girls gotta do," wrote one user. "Story of my life. Side zipper and pull overs are my single ass's friends," wrote another. "You are a single woman’s inspiration!," chimed in a third. "Cheers to the nights we can’t remember in the dresses we can’t take off!"

A Twitter user shared a juxtaposition of the two photos, which got over 260,000 likes and a lot of hilarious replies. "Wait, and who took the photo?" asked one person. "Fire department," joked another. "Again, Mrs. Fonda?" commented a third. Then one woman defended Jane's situation, claiming that even magician Harry Houdini, the master escape artist, would struggle to free himself from the diabolical trappings of designer gowns: "If Houdini wore Vivienne Westwood, he would have drowned every time."

Kudos to Jane, for sharing a very relatable personal moment, and poking fun at herself. Did the mysterious person taking the photo finally help her take it off? Or did she became so frustrated, she tore the gown off, bursting through the shredded fabric like The Hulk? Or is she wandering up and down the streets of Los Angeles, begging for someone to please give her a hand with her the zipper? If you see her, don't help her - it's too funny.
