As well as earning her stripes as a successful and respected actress in Hollywood, with four Oscar nominations and one win under her belt,
Jennifer Lawrence also won over plenty of fans for her sense of humour and relatable comments that aren't often heard from the world's biggest stars.
Her latest movie,
Red Sparrow, is already causing a stir prior to its release. The spy movie sees Lawrence's ballerina recruited into a Russian intelligence service where she is "forced to use her body as a weapon", at least up until her first mission targeting a CIA agent begins to "unravel the security of both nations".

Last week she sat down with Entertainment Tonight's Carly Steel at a roundtable for the upcoming film, where she talked about taking a break from acting to focus more on activism. Speaking about her intentions for the next year, she said:
"I'm going to take the next year off. I'm going to be working with this organization as part of Represent.Us, trying to get young people engaged politically on a local level"
"It doesn't have anything to do with partisan [politics]. It's just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state by state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy."
The organization has already seen celebrity involvement before, but as she says, isn't about any one political faction, but an attempt to "bring together conservatives, progressives, and everyone in between to pass powerful anti-corruption laws that stop political bribery, end secret money, and fix our broken elections".
But this isn't the first time Lawrence has pursued activism.

Just last month she joined in the
Women's March this January, sharing a photo on Facebook saying, and was also honored with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at The Hollywood Reporter's 2017 Women in Entertainment Power 100 breakfast, where she spoke about women's rights. In her acceptance speech, she said:
"It’s not easy to speak out. It’s not easy to face criticism on a global scale. But the fact is I have been given a platform, and if I don’t use it, then I don’t deserve it. This last year has been a trying and challenging time in our world and our industry specifically. Every day, we wake up to a myriad of headlines that deeply impact us, from around the globe."
With Red Sparrow, the major element that has shocked many critics who've had the chance to see the movie is the amount of sexual content and full-frontal nudity on display. But as it turns out, the actress wasn't up for the fuss of repeatedly getting undressed and dressed for this scenes, instead being happy to walk around set in her
birthday suit.
"Everybody made me feel so comfortable that I probably at a certain point started making everybody else uncomfortable," she explained. "Because I'd be like, 'I don't want the robe. I'm hot. I'm eating.' Everybody's like, She needs to cover up."
While I'm sure there were some on set who had no problem with this habit, it must have become pretty weird at times. The confidence required to stay naked with a large crew around you is next level.
Red Sparrow hits theaters Friday, March 2.
