Acne is a frustrating thing to have to deal with. And it's not like everyone deals with it in the same way. While most teenagers struggle with it to some degree during that period of their life, some get away with a few pimples, others have to search for the right skin treatments, and are even left with scars afterwards.
Beyond the tumultuous years of being a teenager, there are plenty of people out there who still have issues with acne well into their adulthood. Aside from your own discomfort and body image, it is often the opinions of others that really get to you. An insult or two can make you feel bad, but so can the obvious stares or comments made with supposed good intentions. And with women, the overwhelming pressure becomes that they should "cover up"their skin with make-up, whether they want to or not.

While there is a vast distance between the lives of your average person and a celebrity like
Kendall Jenner, there are apparently some things that we can relate to regardless of how much money you have. When Jenner hit the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday, much of the talk wasn't about what she was wearing or how she had styled her hair, but instead focused on her skin.
Some critical fans zeroed in on the star's skin, which showed visible acne marks, showing surprise as the likes of Jenner tend to match a 'perfect' standard of beauty on all occasions.

However, some people out there were more supportive, such as one Twitter user, who wrote that Jenner "showing up and strutting her acne while looking like a gorgeous star is what every girl needs to understand." Then, the star replied, telling her to "never let that sh*t stop you".

This isn't the first time Jenner talked about her struggle with acne. A few years ago she explained how she felt about it on her blog, which she has since shut down. She wrote:
“I had such bad acne when I was younger. It completely ruined my self-esteem – I wouldn't even look at people when I talked to them. I felt like such an outcast; when I spoke, it was with my hand covering my face... "
"Even after things started to clear up, it took a solid amount of time to be okay with my skin and gain back my confidence. I realized that it’s a part of life for some people and it doesn’t define who you are.”
There aren't many ways to relate to a star as big as Kendall Jenner, but it is comforting to many that she has a positive outlook on her own acne, hopefully inspiring others suffering from it to be proud of how they look rather than ashamed. If you want to read more about this, check out the
