Throughout her career, Kim Kardashian has been called out for many things: her sassy attitude, her penchant for nudity, and - on more than one occasion - her husband's behaviour. Most of the time, though, the things that earn her the most criticism can be directly linked back to one particular platform... Instagram.

With 116 million followers and a whopping 4,500 posts to her account, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star certainly has a powerful platform at her fingertips. And, as a wise (and maybe fictional) man once said: "With great power comes great responsibility."

Unfortunately, Kim isn’t exactly the "responsible" type - and so her social media antics have landed her in hot water on a number of occasions in the past. There were all those allegedly photoshopped snaps, of course, and just recently she posted a picture that appeared to show her with an implant around her neck.

Her latest insta-blunder, however, has nothing to do with her appearance, but rather that of her eldest child's, North West.

On Wednesday of this week, Kim posted a snap of herself and her five-year-old daughter on a yacht with friends and family. Kim, as usual, looks flawless in a full-face of makeup; meanwhile, North looks either confused or a little annoyed at some news she's just been given.

In the context of the reaction the picture received, though, her expression is pretty appropriate - as the little girl is currently being roasted by KKW's fans for wearing a yellow bikini.

"That swimsuit is a bit inappropriate for a little girl in my opinion!" wrote one person.

"Why is your child showing that much skin?" another grumpy commenter added. "I get that [it’s] a swimsuit but c’mon."

And one person even chimed in with a patronising suggestion that Kim simply "doesn't know" how kids are supposed to dress.

"Aren’t kids that age supposed to wear one-pieces? Just in terms of not letting your child be too grown. Like not letting them wear lipstick at that age either. It’s cute when they’re a baby but get a kid a one-piece … It’s not Kim’s fault. She just doesn’t know."

Yes, that's right: a bunch of grown adults on the internet are piling on a child and leaving aggressive comments for her mother because she's wearing a bikini.

Thankfully, a lot of fans saw the insanity in this, and left comments of support for Kim.

"DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT Let these internet trolls shame you for YOUR CHILD wearing a bikini bathing suit!" one fan said. "We been wearing them as kids since the 70’s! The style has NOT changed! Keep rockin you & yours! She looks adorable! One mom to another!"

"All those mom shamers always ready to attack," added another. "Kim is with her daughter in a safe environment. I guess her kid is the only kid to ever wear a two-piece? Let the mom parent her kids and stop shaming moms."

She might be famous, but North West is still a kid, and she should be allowed to dress like one. Insisting that she covers herself up is a disturbing notion, as children shouldn't be sexualised in any way.

Kim ought to do what she does best in this situation, and simply ignore all the haters.

Back in May 2016, Kim Kardashian made an announcement at the 20th annual Webby Awards. At the ceremony, which was held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York, she won the 'Break the Internet Award', taking to the stage to make her speech. Signing off, she uttered the now infamous words: "Nude selfies until I die." Nearly two years later, it seems Kim K's outlook on the world hasn't changed all that much. Almost immediately after Kim Kardashian's third child was born, she was back up to her usual antics on Instagram - and within a few days, this has gone down the nude route. "Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl," Kim wrote in the official announcement. "We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care." Taking the 'Kangaroo Care' approach, wherein the mother maintains uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact immediately after the delivery and for an extended period of time, it seemed like they were going all in when it came to giving their time to this as-of-yet unnamed child. But for someone like Kim Kardashian, the work doesn't stop - and a lot of that work involves Instagram posts. This left a lot of people wondering how she thought it was a priority to be promoting products on social media when she has a four-year-old daughter, a two-year-old son and a newborn baby. Now, she has received a bigger backlash after posting a photo of herself yesterday, laying on a bed topless (with her breasts blurred out). Captioning it with "Night Cap", Kardashian drew the ire of many fans for the image, given how close it was to the birth of her child. However, some still take issue with the timing of the post, as well as a throwback shot of herself on a Rolls Royce in her underwear. You have time for this?” This isn't the only controversy Kim has gotten involved with this week, as she recently criticised Lamar Odom after her dissed her sister Khloe.

The Kardashians have come to dominate popular culture in unprecedented fashion. One can barely walk down the street without being confronted with images of one member of the Kardashian/Jenner family or another, and they dominate our phones, too, whether through the filtered corridors of Instagram or in some news story, usually speculating on whether one of the girls might be pregnant. While that speculation has now come to an end - in case you somehow missed it, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed a baby via a surrogate, while Khloe Kardashian is currently expecting and Kylie Jenner recently gave birth to a baby girl named Stormi - the furore around the Kardashian/Jenner family is ceaseless. I knew for myself i needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free, and healthy way i knew how. there was no gotcha moment, no big paid reveal i had planned. I knew my baby would feel every stress and every emotion so I chose to do it this way for my little life and our happiness." After this, fans became convinced that the social media queen was engaged after spotting a ring on her engagement finger in a recent Instagram post. This has led Kylie Jenner to become a multi-millionaire through her makeup empire, while Kim has followed suit with her own cosmetics range. Now, though, a photo has emerged of Kim Kardashian when she was just 17-years-old, and it's fair to say that she has changed a lot over the intervening years. Moreover, the social mores and fashions of the day have a larger bearing on our appearance than most of us would care to admit, but, inevitably, since its Kim Kardashian, people are shook by her transformation. Frankly, it would be a little more bizarre if Kim looked identical to her 17-year-old self - despite retaining remarkably youthful looks, however, she does not look an awful lot like the image her mom Kris posted to Instagram. Who knows what direction the twisting, turning behemoth that is Kardashian fascination (I'm coining that phrase) will turn in next. One thing is for certain though; whatever happens next, we'll all be watching, writing, and reading about it. Well, we finally have it: the first Kardashian baby of the year. While Kim and Kanye's surrogacy journey was never kept hush-hush, unlike that of Khloé Kardashian's pregnancy (which has since been revealed) and Kylie Jenner's (which still remains classified intel), we still haven't seen a picture of the baby girl, nor do we know what her famous parents have decided to call her. This is Kim and Kanye's third child, after five-year-old North and three-year-old Saint. And as any Kardashian-Jenner fan will be aware of, it was quite a struggle for Kim to have a third child. After enduring complications such as placenta accreta after the birth of her first two children, and a historic fight with infertility, the 37-year-old has become increasingly outspoken about the fact that choosing the surrogate route wasn't exactly her "choice" at all. Fans of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star were then shocked and appalled when Kim took to her Instagram stories to post a video of her doing anything but spending time with her newborn yesterday. While many fans won't have a problem with Kim's social media activity, considering it to be nothing out of the ordinary, others expressed "disgust" at the fact that the mother-of-three chose to spend the first days of her newborn daughter's life working out and doing paid promotions. One person wrote, "So assuming she's bothering with the new baby at all, now North and Saint get even less attention, because when the baby sleeps, instead of spending the time with them, she dumps them to work on that monstrosity of a body?" while another corroborated, "She sure loves self promotion, apparently so much she can't even spend time with her newborn child for even the first 24 hours she is home without doing her thing. Also, she clearly loves staring at herself in her iPhone camera, she looks like she is almost in a trance." One fan thought that Kim's behaviour had more to do with using a surrogate. "Must be a strange feeling being able to work out when you have a baby that's 24 hours old. That's the beauty of having a surrogate I suppose! No recovery." Though money can't buy happiness, it certainly can purchase a surrogate and nannies.

In the age of social media, all of us probably have old embarrassing posts and photos lurking somewhere in the deep dark web. It might be an old picture hanging around on a long-forgotten MySpace account, or remnants of some argument you had with someone on a public Facebook post, or simply just a poorly-thought-out tweet that you sent out and forgot to delete half a decade ago.

And that's bad enough for us regular Joes who don't really use social media for anything other than keeping in touch with friends and occasionally uploading a picture of our dinner to Instagram - so just imagine how bad it is for celebrities who update us all on their lives every three minutes.

More specifically, think of how it must be for Kim "nude selfies till I die" Kardashian.

The reality star and prolific 'grammer updates her Insta daily, sometimes with nice, family-friendly pictures of herself and her family, and other times with X-rated snaps of herself in lingerie (or sometimes even less). And, considering she's amassed over one hundred million followers, it seems that a lot of people are big fans of what she has to offer.

But, considering she has more than 4,000 posts under her name, Kim K is bound to have some cringe-worthy posts and prize mistakes amongst the mix. And that's just her account - think of how many pictures she's in on her sisters' pages, or her mom's.

In fact, it was one recent post on Kris Jenner's Instagram that had Kim freaking out.

At first glance (and aside from those terrible chairs), the photo seems to be a rather sweet snapshot of the Kardashian/Jenner family in the late nineties. But Kim didn't quite see it that way.

As soon as the picture went up, dozens of Kardashian fans jumped into the comments section to point out teenage Kim's pencil-thin eyebrows.

"Even Kim K went through the eyebrow phase," wrote one fan.

"Oh girl, those brows," wrote another. "It's ok though it's a throwback."

But other people pointed out how normal the trend was: "We all did thin eyebrows in the 90's. It's not that serious."

Even with the comforting words of a few fans, however, Kim still had a minor freakout over her former, slimmer-eyebrowed self.

And if that wasn't embarrassing enough for the mother-of-three, Kim's nineties no-no was then commented on by none other than Katy Perry.

But let's be real here for a second - Kim needs to chill out over this. First of all, most people were more concerned with the fact that Kylie Jenner is pretty much as young as her own daughter in this snap, and - secondly - she's done far worse things than waxed her eyebrows a little too thin.

And it's not as if Kim hasn't been posting her own throwbacks, either. This shot of her and Khloe from 1994 is absolute gold:

Who knows, maybe in another 20 years or so, Kris will post a throwback to all those nudes Kim uploads these days. Now that's a reaction I want to see.
