A bartender in Los Angeles has explained what an "Angel Shot" is and how it could potentially save a life.

TikTok user and bartender Benji Spears took to the app on July 21 to explain how people can order the shot if they are with a date who makes them uncomfortable and the bar staff will help them leave - no questions asked.

Spears went on to re-enact a situation where a woman asked for an Angel Shot, prompting him to get his manager because the man in question was being aggressive.

The bartender said that he'd also personally seen the man aggressively lean into the woman, despite her discomfort.

When he approached them, the woman proceeded to ask for an Angel Shot with lime, which altered him to the fact that what he'd just seen was exactly what it looked like.

He then stayed at the table with the woman while his colleague searched for the manager, making small talk so that the man did not realize what was happening.

Benji explained that an Angel Shot with Lime should only be ordered if you want the staff to specifically call the police, whereas ordering an Angel Shot Neat, someone will escort you to your car.

You can also order an Angel Shot on the Rocks, which will prompt the staff to call you a ride to leave.

"The bartender will notify a manager and we will call the police for you," he added.
