A couple hooked on tattoos and body modifications have slammed trolls who say they are "ugly" and can't be good parents.

Brazillian couple Jessica Ferreira, 25, and her partner Victor, 36, have revealed that people make assumptions about their family based purely on the fact they both love body modifications.

Speaking to Truly, Victor revealed that he first started experimenting with body modifications when he was 13, and now has over 70% of his body covered in inkings and numerous body piercings.

Victor has also received around seven surgical procedures to alter his body - which includes implants in his arms, nipple removal, and a split tongue.

Partner Jessica has roughly 40% of her body tattooed, with the hope to one day cover 70% of her skin in ink - including her eyeballs.

However, the couple say their unique look has resulted in people in the street calling them "ugly" and making incorrect assumptions about the love they have for their three-year-old son.

Victor - who works as a body piercer - told Truly: "[Strangers] don’t expect us to be workers or go to the church.

"They don’t expect us to raise our child with a lot of love."

They say their son, Nikolas, doesn't care what his parents look like and thinks their tattoos are "beautiful".

"[Nikolas] says he wants to get them," Victor said, to which Jessica replied: "And I say he can get one when he's big enough."

Their love of body modifications has also caused many issues in their personal lives.

Victor says that he was thrown out of the family home when he was just 13 years old, and didn't speak with his mom for almost two years.

He says that his family still has a problem with accepting him the way he is.

Jessica adds that her relationship with Victor resulted in many of her friends abandoning her, and several of her family members believing that Victor was "on drugs".

"They would say I was a horrible dad," Victor said.

"Once they got to know him personally, they saw that he is an amazing person, an amazing father. Today my whole family love Victor," Jessica added.

Over the pandemic, Victor and Jessica started an Instagram account called 'Casal Modificado', as a way of showcasing their bodies, sharing their day-to-day lives with Nikolas, and speaking to other modified individuals.

The couple now boasts over 5,200 followers (as of this writing).

"Everyone else fits a pattern - and we don't. We don't want to look like others. But the difference is only the way we look," Jessica states.
