A dad has been facing backlash from social media users after publishing a video of his hardworking wife online.
Taking to TikTok, Phil Mackenzie (also known by his username @LeanSquad1), posted a video that has sparked a surprising backlash from social media users.
The 19-second clip, which has now been viewed over 5 million times, shows a woman in front of the TV working out while surrounded by a mess left behind by her children.
There are toys sprawled all over the living room, but she continues to work out as her husband walks up behind her and starts recording.
Take a look for yourselves:An overlay on the video read: "Today I walked in on my wife working out while our newborn napped. Our house was a disaster. Dishes needed to be cleaned. Laundry needed to be done. And a million other things she felt she had to do."
It continued: "Yet I could not be more proud. She instead decided to take just a little time to herself that she deserved 10 times over. Always remember that YOU DESERVE time to yourself. The mess and chores can always wait, but your mental health should never be sacrificed."
In the caption, the 35-year-old seemed to be advertising his "Lean Reset" workout package for beginners.
Now, while it is pretty clear that the sportsman's intention was to post something cute - praising his wife for her self-care - that's not the vibe some social media users were picking up on, as a whole bunch of them headed to the comments to call him out.
"This happened to me, walked in on my wife when I came from work," wrote one user. "I didn't record her, I went ahead and did the dishes, laundry, etc."
"You got hands. Clean," another added.
A third advised: "How about helping her?"

And the comments didn't stop there.
Others also joined in on the tirade against the influencer.
"And the best part is this guy thinks he's husband of the year for not getting mad at her," claimed one TikToker.
"This video alone is my nightmare," another shared. "Someone watching it pile on me and just clap... congrats to me for keeping it together. HELP HER."
"If you cleaned while she did this, both of yall could relax afterwards," added another while someone else piped up with: "This man is saying 'it's alright, she'll do all the chores later.'"

The latter comment seems to be the biggest issue here, as many were left questioning whether Phil was going to leave his wife to get on with the chores after her workout rather than lending her a helping hand. Some even went as far as to brand his post as patronizing.
However, his wife, Brodie, actually approved the post before it was published.
Speaking to Today, the mom-of-four stated that her husband he "didn't deserve the backlash" he got.
"Phil was showing how proud he was that I left the mess until we could clean together," she said while Phil insisted would never shame his wife to lose weight, saying 'exercise is for our mental health.' As for the household chores, he added that they both "split the load."
As per the Daily Mail, the former professional rugby player shares four sons under the age of five with Brodie, who gave birth to their youngest child in October.
Their children Hudson, five, twins Preston and Boden, two, and Ashton, three months, feature in some of their videos which aim to present the world to the "real world" of parenting.
