A father-to-be is seeking advice after his sister sent his pregnant wife a diet plan with their wedding invitation.

The anonymous man explained in a Reddit post that his sister is getting married in two months' time, and like most brides-to-be, she's stressing out over her big day.

One of her jobs was sending out invitations to all of the guests, but unfortunately, the one she sent to his pregnant wife reduced her to tears.

"She came to me and handed me the envelope and she looked so upset almost crying," he said. "I opened it and found that my sister sent a 30-day pre-wedding diet plan."

The man was understandably left speechless by his sister's actions.

"I don't know who's idea this is or who made this plan but it's awful," he wrote. "Literally the worst thing I've seen in a while.

"My sister basically wanted my wife (my wife's pregnant btw) to lose weight by following this diet so she could look 'fit' at the wedding."

He said that when he took a closer look at the diet plan, he realized that it wasn't even suitable for his wife's dietary requirements.

The man explained: "Some of those 'meals' my wife is allergic to. My wife isn't even one of my sister's bridesmaids for Christ's sake."

The man went on to confront his sister about the diet plan.

"I argued with her and after she berated me for objecting her 'plan' and said I was trying to ruin her day," he said.

"I told her we're not coming and that I threw the invitation in the trash bin."

However, when the man's mother found out, she disagreed with his decision not to attend the wedding and said that he should be more supportive of his sister.

"I reminded her that my wife is pregnant but she said I was making a big deal out of it causing drama and refusing to go with the flow," he said. "We argued for 30 minutes then I hung up."

He subsequently asked Reddit users if he had done the right thing and they were overwhelmingly on his side.

One person said: "You could send your sister a 30-day pre-wedding personality repair plan."

"Right? Everyone else can lose weight, how do you fix ugly on the inside?" replied another person.

A third asked: "Who the hell demands someone else go on a diet to attend a f****** wedding?"

Moments later, a fourth said: "Your family is insane. As her brother, you are to support her as much as she is to respect your wife."

What do you think? Was this man harsh on his stressed-out sister or did he do the right thing?
