A delivery driver has been slammed for eating a customer's food after he found out that they were only tipping him $1.

The debate around tipping culture continues to rage on, as nobody can seem to agree on what the correct etiquette is when it comes to giving money to workers.

For some, 20% of the total bill is seen as the right amount to hand over, while others believe that the staff should be paid a reasonable wage meaning that they don't need to rely on tips to get by.

Personally, I tend to agree with the latter as it should be the duty of the employer to ensure that a staff member is sufficiently compensated for their time, and not the duty of the customer.

That being said, if someone started eating my food because of the amount I was tipping, I would not be pleased at all.

One DoorDash driver who goes by the TikTok handle Side Hustle Addict recorded himself rummaging through a customer's order and helping himself to the food.

"This DoorDash customer only tip $1," he began. "Let's see what he got at Arby's."

Going through the bag, the driver continued: "It's got beef and cheddar, it's got the french dip and the crinkle fries. Oh man, that's my favorite."

Demonstrating just how much he really loves Arby's crinkle fries, the driver begins chowing down on the food that was intended for a paying customer.

"Thank you $1 tipper," he concluded, before signing off with laughter.

It's safe to say that the driver's behavior has not gone down too well with viewers of the video, as one person commented: "Chill bro I’m a broke college student," to which the driver simply replied: "No tip no food."

A second person said: "As a driver myself, Im sickened by this action. I have often taken orders that indicate no tip or just $1 tip and then upon confirming drop-off noticed they added a tip or tipped more than the $1. Some ppl will wait until you drop the order off on time as instructed to add/add to the tip."

A third said: "So I’m a delivery driver and shopper and I’m shaking my head to this one we take this job knowing that we may not be tipped maybe that’s all they had!"

Not everyone was against the actions of the driver, with one supporter stating: "I think you’re not teaching them a lesson, but I enjoyed watching your video. The only ones offended are the bad tippers. I agree no tip no food."

Do you agree with no tip, no food?
