As we are all too aware, the coronavirus pandemic has made profound changes to the way we're interacting with each other. And on a very superficial level, self-isolation and social distancing have meant that we have far fewer entertainment opportunities at our disposal.
Actress Vanessa Hudgens wasn't too pleased to hear about the prospect of months of self-isolation, telling her Instagram followers, this is a "bunch of bullsh*t":One form of entertainment, previously regarded as an 'outdated' or nostalgic form of entertainment, that has reportedly seen a revival is the drive-in movie theater.
Now that traditional movie theaters are a no-go amid the COVID-19 outbreak, drive-in theaters provide couples, friends, and families a nice way to spend time together outside of their own home.
According to the LA Times, there are currently more than 305 active drive-in theaters throughout the United States. It is here that film buffs - or those who'd quite like to leave the house for a while - are able to watch new releases and classic movies from the relative safety of their cars.

Per The LA Times, owners of drive-ins in Kansas, California, Missouri, and Oklahoma have reported a surge in business over the last few days - as cases of the virus continue to soar.
Beau Bianchi, whose family owns the two-screen Paramount Drive-In, told The Times that on Tuesday, ticket sales were "at least double" what they would usually be. Available at the theater, was a double feature on both screens, to the delight of moviegoers in the 136 cars that turned up on Tuesday. According to Bianci, they sold 320 tickets.
“It has been a welcome relief for families and adults looking for a little getaway from the house,” Bianchi told the publication. “We’ve been trying to let people know that we have a safe environment and [offer] a little escape.”
