But there is one engagement video that has recently gone viral for its twist, which, quite frankly, even M. Night Shyamalan wouldn't have seen coming.

The video, which has been viewed over eight million times on Twitter alone, was first posted to TikTok by an account named @megaamerican, which is the first hint as to what you're about to see.

The video opens with a scene reminiscent of the Notebook and features a happy couple in a park, rain pouring down, while Taylor Swift's 'Love Story' plays in the background as the man proposes.

The woman accepts and they embrace in the rain... but I'm afraid that this video doesn't end there.

The video then cuts to a closeup of the woman's engagement ring and unbelievably, instead of being adorned with a diamond or a jewel, or even being a simple band, it is an engagement ring that simply says "Trump 2020" against the American flag.

Needless to say, social media users had a lot to say about the viral video.

One Twitter user wrote of the man picking the woman up: "I was waiting for him to drop her but this is so much worse."

A second listed everything they thought was wrong with the video, writing: "Idk what's worse: - being in the rain with no shoes on - being in public with no mask - being proposed to with a Tr*mp themed engagement ring."

A third simply created this hilarious reaction meme:

Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "Directed by M. Night Shyamylan."

However, if you thought this couple was done expressing their love of Trump, you were wrong, and this Twitter user pointed out that they didn't just have one but two Trump-themed rings.

But it's not the most ludicrous engagement of all time - this couple faked a proposal just to get free drinks at a bar:
